Some of my goals are definitely ambitious. If I'm consistent I'm pretty sure I can hit at least a few of them.

Are you training these days? I mean, do you even lift, bro?

Deadlifts for SPOLA

* Regular bar DOH 180x1, 190x0
190 was close. I'd like to get to 200 at some point.

* Regular bar mixed grip 230x1, 250x0
Failed 250 below the knees. 230 wasn't too hard, and consistent with recent reppage.

*Axle DOH 125x1, 135x0, 130x0
125 is a 10kg PB, strangely. 115 probably wasn't a true test.


* Also did a bit of rowing, including a couple of peak power tests (10 seconds at max speed, full strokes). Managed to hit 955W (=1:11.6/500m). Feels weird to sprint with full strokes.

Well, I'm back from holidays. Not sure if I can say I'm rested, but I didn't do much training, that's for sure. Activities centred mostly around the kids (including their illnesses Roll-Eyes ). I managed one short xc ski outing, and one short sandbag/log session.

Today it was back to the gym for a weakass pressing workout.

Glute-ham raises 4x3

These sucked. Wasn't set up properly I think (knees too far forward on the pad), it killed my quads like a bad foam roller massage. I hope they're not as painful next time, I was kinda looking forward to doing these regularly. Unhappy

I must say the foam on the pad and the rollers is ridiculously soft. Don't buy GHD's from Crossgym, and don't buy their flat bench either, it's too short (I can barely fit on it) and the foam is the same soft crap as on the GHD. Idiots.

Video of Friday's 30kg pull-ups. Not exactly an entertaining watch, even though I cut out most of the rest periods. According to the tape, it took me 6 minutes or thereabouts to complete the 16 sodding reps. Roll-Eyes



On Sunday I only had time for a bit of log.

Worked up to 80kgx1, 90x1 (2-ply sleeves; let the bruising begin!), then 1 clean and 5 strict presses at 70kg, and 1 cl + 8 strict press at 60kg. Better than no training at all, I guess.

Today:

* Squats

122.5x10 Stopped when I felt my form was starting to break down.

* Zercher squat 100 5x3 (every minute on the minute)

* Pistol squats 2 sets of 10, alternating legs (so 5 each leg per set)

*Squat jumps, max height to failure (up to a ceiling beam, stopped when I missed it which turned out to be after 6-8 reps) x 3 sets

Nothing extremely challenging, but an enjoyable session.
