That's probably the best thing to do. You have proved yourself. Just wait and see the out come.

Hobson in a very good athlete. When I was competing against him you could see the bags of potential... He would be mad to turn the invite down.

Lets hope the both lads go.

someone give me some bogus info on this comp telling me it was a 400kg yoke and so on.

its 370kg car walk for 25m.

370 car walk is harder than 370 yoke eh? Not too far off 400 then Grin

Will be tomorrow afternoon before we know more.

Maybe this thread should be about yesterdays comp which i think was one of the best comps i have witnessed rather than all this bulls**t drama Grin

England and Wales Most Powerful Man u105kg

110kg log clean and press 75s

Managed to get 5 reps, target for the comp was 6 but didn't seem to get my clean quite right until the third rep. Still plenty more work needed here. Good enough for joint 3rd.

Max deadlift.

Very disappointed with this as its the weakest deadlifting I've done for a while. Opened on 300 which felt easy enough. 315 second lift might of drifted slightly causing the re occurrence of my old ass/nerve injury. Nailed joint 1st place with Cleggy. Must say the standard of deadlift from everyone was through the roof. 280 seems to be becoming an average u105 deadlift.

Was in quite a bit of pain here and wife gave me a mini bollocking for not withdrawing. Decided to take a couple of coedine and see if the pain eased.

Duck walk, drag, duck walk medley

Was quite worried before the event about the drag as I though it would play havoc with my back. Watched a lot of people struggle to get good distance on the second duck walk so had clear markers for what I needed to do. Duck walk flew but the drag was a total bas***d, sled really dug into the gravel. Too a few breaths before the second duck walk and cracked on with it was conscious of time limit so ended up over striding it and dropping the weight. Managed to get far enough for 4th place though.

Think everyone was suffering in the heat by this point and the thought of another medley didn't bring a smile to anyones face.

Tyre flip, chain drag, anvil carry

Decided to pace myself here to save some for the anvil as not many had managed to load it. Flips were easy, drag was a lot easier than the previous sled. Hardest thing about the anvil was the pick up, at the risk of getting flamed by Craig the actual carrying of it wasn't too bad. I think my long arms suit this kind of carry.

Stones

Watched a few struggle to load the first stone but tbh it never crossed my mind that I'd find it difficult. How f**king wrong I was, the 115 stone stuck on my chest and the next thing I knew I was laying on the floor. Felt very similar to what has happened to me when I've been front squatting in the garden. Got up, took a few breaths and cracked on. Disappointed not to have been able to tackle the last stone but only had 5 seconds remaining after the fourth. Thought I'd blown my chances of securing second place which had been my aim.

Couldn't believe it when whispers started going round that I'd won and then Rob came over and confirmed it. I apologise if I didn't look made up or excited but in all honesty I couldn't f**king belive it.

Might sound daft but although I'm blown away by winning it I'm a little disappointed with some of my events, there is definitely scope for improvement.

The quality on the day was immense and it proved to be a brutal and very tight comp. I nicked it by one and a half points with the next 3 places tied. Really could have been anyones on the day.

Met some great guys and it was genuinely a pleasure to compete and have a laugh with you boys.

Lots of people deserve a pat on the back for getting this comp on at short notice but standout is jt and his other half Sam. Having part organised a comp myself months in advance I can't comprehend how much work they crammed into 10 odd days. jt is a guy who genuinely loves this sport and with guys like this on our side I can't se anything but a bright future for our sport.

Thanks to JT for putting on a f**king good comp at short notice! Must have taken a lot of hard work - we appreciate it mate. Thanks for the t shirt also. Also thanks to Brian for donating tacky for the winners, Gaz for sorting the trophies and Tony/James for the MT t shirts. It was like a desert yesterday and all the lads put in gutsy performances. It was great to meet some new lads and see some old faces, can't wait to compete against you guys again. I had a great day, couldn't have really hoped for much better. Tony is the man, truly deserved the win!
