Great lifting for a first comp there Dave and good to see your uni lifters doing well. A 220 total should be well within your grasp in January and I think more realistically you'll hit around 100/130 by then.

I don't think anyone's interested in this, so will just post a few highlights each week.

This week included:

Squat
160kg x 2 PB
150kg x 3
120kg x 5 paused

Front squat
140kg x 1 PB
110kg x 5

Deadlift
220kg x 2 PB

Bench
130kg x 2 PB
125kg x 3

Push Press
120kg x 1 PB
100kg x 5

Lots of WL, not much of it very noteworthy as I have been moving like a robot this week. More soft tissue work needed.

Cheers dude, it's edging forward!

Nailed a 165kg squat PB last night and spent an hour with Hannah Powell tearing my snatch apart, very useful!

The paused stuff can be useful for both reinforcing positions, and diminishing the stretch shortening cycle. I usually just chuck a few in when I can't be arsed with high weight or reps, and want to do something useful without killing myself Grin

I'll second the final point. I can do paused squats day in day out.

I have never spent any time 'tearing my snatch apart.'
