Win % now back to 100% (despite having had 4 failures)

The benefit of not having a decimal point. 99.5 becomes 100. One fail in every two hundred games. It's not bad is it ?

A terrible six

The fourth was tactical but this was a dreadful day where there were so many options. The tactical didn't work out as well as it could have, and left two quite likely and some not so likely options. Happily the second quite likely option was correct. Phew indeed !

Another four but this wasn't as bad as it looked

I have a good idea as to what the last letter should be and I was right, this left few options and the first was correct. Had I guessed that last letter incorrectly I would have been doomed. But the odds were very much on my side.

A worrying and fraught four

Usual openers, very little gained, but quite a lot eliminated. I dislike these, a huge amount of scribbling during which an entire mug of tea was consumed. Finally, a straw was clutched at and it held.

Ready those babies, triple digits await. Fingers crossed.

A relatively calm five

Happily I now think that there are only two options left and two guesses remain. Got it on the first

A rather awkward four

XYGYX
XXXXX
XGXXX

Usual opener to start but then straight to the third as I considered the usual second un-necessary. However five greys changed my mind and I used the second as the third, just as well that I did. Quite a lot of pondering followed but I got there in the end.

My streak is now higher than my success percentage for the first time ever.

If this doesn’t come to fruition at some point then I will consider it to be one of life’s greatest missed opportunities.

As will I. But I fear my best chance would be to land a part in a Scooby-Doo cartoon

A surprise four

Worked out the most likely ending and was fortunate enough to not only be correct but to pick the correct start as well. A large element of fluke in this. Can't really take any credit, just blind luck.

Friday, 5th April, start 15:30

Deadlift, raw
40 x 5
60 x 5
80 x 5
90 x 3
100 x 3
110 x 3
120 x 3
130 x 3
130 x 3
130 x 3

All smooth enough. A classic Adders day where two weightlifters and one powerlifter mocked each other for a couple of hours. All good fun.

Far more importantly, however, did you fall through the doors and leave a ‘Pete-shaped’ hole in your wake? In my mind, you certainly did.

Oh if only I did. It does remain on my "to do" list.

It was however a flimsy, internal, concertina door. My ability to move swiftly enough to leave a hole in a door is questionable, this door's ability to allow this, even more so.

A rare but simple two

Decided to "go for it" after the usual opener and was rewarded

Oh i do like a good door incident, Was it training related or just general buffonary??

The latter. General buffoonery is a hobby of mine. Add to that the fact that I was born with the gift of clumsiness and I become a slowly ambling disaster looking to stumble across, and cause problems for, something that neither deserves nor expects it.

Witness my hand this day, the 4th of April in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty four, that I, Peter Ratcliffe, Buffoon of this parish, did, on Easter Monday of this year without forethought or indeed without any kind of thought, did oafishly trip and fall and in doing so caused grievous damage to a door of the folding variety, that had done me no harm whatsoever.

Mea Culpa, Mea culpa, Mea maxima culpa
