Probably not the best idea but was so pissed off after last nights deadlift session that I decided to do some reps tonight. Gonna drop the weight for a few weeks and focus on reps.

Worked up to 220kg x 8 (nearly nine!)
Will aim for 10 reps at this over the next few weeks.

Deadlifts
100kg x 5
140kg x 5
180kg x 3
220kg x 2
260kg x 1
275kg x 1 FAIL. Came about an inch off the floor. Gutted not to pull this as 272.5 felt comfy 3 weeks ago.

Bench
60kg x 5
80kg x 5
100kg x 5
120kg x 5
140kg x 8

Tricep Extensions
45kg x 10 (x4). On machine

Jim Dulling was voted in at the start to chair the meeting and did a great job. The main roles came to a vote and RF, AH & JJ resigned rather than going through the vote. Fred Sterry is the new Chairman of GBPF & Richard Parker General Secretary.

Credit to the outgoing officers for their hard work in sometimes difficult circumstances. The new guys seem honest and transparent so let's hope that they can deliver for the members.

Pause on last rep of each set.
60kg x 5
80kg x 5
100kgx 5
120kg x 5
140kg x 8 (t&g). PB for reps. Really pleased with this. Very nearly locked 9th rep out so the aim is to eventually get 10.

Squats
60kg x 5
100kg x 5
130kg x 5
160kg x 5
170kg x 5
180kg x 4

Last rep on each set was with 2 second pause. Pleased with session as I'm experimenting with wider grip at the mo.

Disappointed to not lock out 5th rep out at 250kg as I did it 3 weeks ago.

Yorkshire & North East Unequipped Bench Press Champs

Body weight 74.0kg

1st : 147.5kg - flew up
2nd: 152.5kg - flew up
3rd: 157.5kg - FAIL.

Won my class but really disappointed as my 2nd lift felt so good. Went for a conservative 3rd lift (was contemplating putting 160kg on) for a new comp PB and got stuck 2 3rds of the way up. Looking back I think I might have been a bit too over confident for 3rd and didn't really drive off the chest. Never mind, there's always next time!
