Thanks guys Happy

Rick - I was so paranoid as soon as I missed that first bench attempt; that was supposed to be my easy openner and I f**ked it up. the video is kind of funny - I bang my right arm straigth to lockout, and it looks like I just get lazy with my right arm hahaha

02/07/09 - CANDYAZZ CLASSIC 2009

Squat (all in Metal Viking and Convicts):
1st Attempt - 600 - Good
2nd Attempt - 650 - Miss. Ugh haha. Didnt even budge out of the hole
3rd Attempt - 650 - Closer, but still a miss

Bench:
1st Attempt (Rage-X) - 325 - MISS!?!?!? Couldnt lock it out ffs
2nd Attempt (Rage-X) - 325 - Good, banged it up really easy this time
3rd Attempt (Katana) - 385 - Miss. Flared elbows way too soon apparently. Got close

Deadlift (all attempts in Metal Viking):
1st Attempt - 475 - easy peasy
2nd Attempt - 525 - good - 20lb meet pr
3rd Attempt - 550 - good, 45lb meet pr
4th Attempt - 565 - nope. Got really close, but no good. It was really close to my 3rd attempt, and I was already super tired hahaha

Videos will come

My Metal Pro Ace briefs are here now; the legs are thick as f**k, so the support I get out of them, plus theyll make the legs of my squat suit tighter... should be a good time hahaha

Nice one dude; squats are looking good

Everyone already knows cardio is bad for you!

Thanks Shaun. Hopefully I can translate the training prs to the platform where it counts haha

Got all my stuff packed. Writting one test tomorow, then Friday morning Im off to New York for some lifting Grin cant wait hahaha

Took 600 for 2 singles on Friday. Both felt good, and depth looked ok on the 2nd (cut the first a bit short I think which is why there were 2 singles hahaha)

Good luck Malc...

psh, even I could write a published watcha-ma-callit Tongue

Very cool to hear youre getting another one dude; congratsGrin

Re. the ultra-wide sumos; for what its worth Louie told me to always train as wide as possible, and just bring in the stance at competition time.

640x3 is absolutley rediculous Grin

I love how this journal is mostly in pounds; I can figure out exactly how freaky your lifts are without multiplying everything by 2.2 Tongue Grin

Hey Matt

I actually used a Rage-X for a little over a year inbetween the Fury and A/S. I was given the Fury free from another lifter, so it wasnt a choice based on my technique haha

Im a fat guy, but have a decent arch and touch pretty low, so A/S seemed a good way to go. Ive only trained in it 4 or 5 times now, and the lightest Ive touched is 10lbs over my meet pr (sometimes 40lbs over can be a struggle haha). I was doing some boards in it after full range work, and decided to try jacking it a bit; I just barely pulled the collar down, and couldnt touch &rt;400 (cant remember exact weight; think it was 405) to a 2 board haha

Im a week out of a meet now so I think Ill be openning with my Rage-X just to make sure I get an openner in hahaha
» Bench Shirt (Go to post)30-01-2009 @ 18:28
lol @ everyone thinking Rage-X is only double ply

I started with a Fury and really liked it tbh. Moved on to a Rage-X. IMHO the best part of this shirt is how well you can jack it (I just took a video of me touching an empty bar, then jacking the piss out of the shirt and not being able to touch 315 haha... its a loose as hell shirt).

I just got a single ply A/S Katana recently (competing in it for the first time next week). Its good so far, but Im having trouble touching 20lbs over my competition pr, so itll be interesting haha

hahaha Lexen Xtreme (the gym with a lot of the old Westside guys) do a tonne of rack pulls in their training - I just see it coming. Someone will make a slight alteration to the form on rack pulls, and voila, Lexen-Pulls will be bornGrin
