Still not sure that my finger will have healed so a bit hessitante to comment.

However, 90k log Happy great. Nothing worse than not being able to do an event because the weight is too much- used to do 105's back in the mid 2000s and the log was always 105 and at least 2 or 3 guys coiuldnt lift it. Not much fun to watch that!

I like HEAVY farmers up to 140k, but once again that's a subjective comment and you can't run an event to please everyone.

Just a thought, how about a 18inch deadlift for max for a change? Oly bar seems to have become such a staple event... 200k a bit light??

I personaly like to see the occassional free style training.

Is that technique called cross-fit by any chance?

I agree with shortandmighty- I was once bollocked and given a lecture by a fat 20 year old instructre in a leisure center for doing good mornings.

For a strongman session try Liketolift in Redhill just a couple of stops round the M25.

We have tyre and stones outdoors and farmerms walk frame and yolk and log 80k can add weights to all equipmen can be used indoors or outdoors.

I train on a Sunday at 10 every other week and Saturday 10 ever other week with my guys if you fancy it. We always have chalk in gym and I carry tacky with me as well.

I also train with women and people of all abilities some come down and have a goHappy

Ive been doing farmers with chalk and had no issues. Appart from a swolen tendon in my right hand, my grip is good to go.

First time with straps today on deadlift and it felt restricted, it feelt very odd. Im 10x better at carrying envents than static. Perhaps I should try again..

Is there any particular make that would be comfortable? the ones I used today cut the blood supply to my hands! Bloody horrid. But calouses might be off for deadlift if weather is humid.

As for the stone, I am almost out of tacky- but prefer chalk. Will order some tacky on line to be safe on the day.

Looks like Ive got my own forum except for the odd visit from the spelling police!

Tried deadlift today with straps... never never again it was horrible.

I would have burned them if I hadnt have stolen them.

I will just replace them quietly where I found...
