Who am I kidding girls at 15? No chance- Why do you think I started weights, to get laid of course!

Some can get away with it others cannot.

Kaz was always the bad guy and Jon Pall had the quality that made you want to see him victorious.I was about in the 80s and gutted when he died. Personality is hard to define. However, personality is psychologicaly defined by the way one presents themselves to the world and copes with daily enviromental challenges.

One story that sums the showman up and the true nature of Jon Pall is when a professional arm wrestler came to Scotland and was fleecing the locals out of cash. They all got together to raise the funds for Jon Pall to have a go. Jon Pall, not a arm wrestler managed beat him.
When they asked the arm armwrestler aferwards what went wrong he said that it was the power of the man. Strength? No he replied... his will power.RIP Jon Pall, strongmans greatest showman.

Danny- still off sick and bored obviously!

For breakfast..

7 sausages, chips and beans and Dr pepper. All high in amino acids I think you will find.

A true breakfast for an injured boy.

I should add that the sausages were indeed Swaffam sizzlers brought down at the weekend by the mother in law.

I know the forum asks what did you have for tea- well I had sausages and chips for tea as well but coke not Dr pepper which is important.

Danny- off work sick and obviously bored.

If you do shrugs with the cable bar you can lean back at an angle and hit the lower traps. I did this to balance out my trap over development in the upper trap.
T-bar rows as well.
Rear delts put your forehead on a bench at a 45 degree angle to keep it strict- I do this to help balance my delts or the fronts become to over developed in proportion.

Thats a pretty impressive deadlift Luke less than.

I have a Q if your about. I can lock out about knee hight with no problems over 300. However, I struggle on the initial pick, I also get dizzy. Hence my low deadlift number.

I am not a powerlifter and so would appreciate any insight into improving my initial pick from you big lifters.

Sorry, this is way off subject. Appologies.

Thanks for enlightening- not a powerlifter so not sure about all the equipment.

They just looked a bit odd with the white socks. But if Ahola wants to wear that getup, who is going to complain?
» Strongman gyms/event training near Guilford/Woking area (Go to post)17-07-2013 @ 14:56
Lik2lift in Redhill- about 25 miles from Guildford. they have all strong man equip. I am injured but the guys hold a Sunday session at 10 when I text their arse in to train.

The equipment can be used any time though... Very freindly chalk always avalible and adjustable farmers, yolk and log (start weight 80k) indoors and prowler. outside 350 tyre 80,125 and 160 stone. No one uses the 160 haha Platform for deadlift/highpulls etc. Axle bar for axle lifts.

Sound any good?

Danny

Ahola is the man. Best trap development ever.

I cant help thinking that way back when no one person dominated all the events- (indeed Ahola was not always top 3 as mentioned and came almost bottom on some events)it was damm entertaining to watch and you never knew until end who would be top 3.

Love his dead lift. Almost stiff legged- I use the same technique- not because I have a back like Aholas but because its a long way down there for an old fella!

By the way, what the f**k has he got on this feet? can anyone entlighten why he looks like a 18 century quaker down there?

Deadlifting once a week? Why not alternate deadlift with power cleans or it could be your back going next!

I pulled a muscle in my middle back last year doing deadlift 8 weeks in a row. This repeated strain occured on two other occassions.

It has been fine the past 4 months as Ive alternated dead with good mornings and heavy clean- but do high pulls stiff legged deads and heavy hypers every week.

Sorry went off subject.

Great.

She is up for it. She is doing floor to overhead 45k at the moment allbeit for 1 rep haha but should be enough time.

Are the stones chalk only, Or can I use tacky for her? Actually just read about the size, prob chalk will be fine.

Hi Mate.

I am thinking of entering my sister as she has been training with me for 7 weeks and will be able to do the deadlift no problem.

Can you tell me what the floor to overhead weight will be for the females? and she has no access to stones and our 80 traing stone may be a bit of an ask, what sort of weights are you thinkung of mate?

Pluss is this more of a crossfit comp? Bit confused... Please enlighten

Dannyboy.
