fair point,and not to drag this out but i think its a bit of both....u colud have a massive squat,but s**te log for example...so i would say one,maybe two for experience...then work upto inter/open etc.....i also think pple who keep entering novice comps are cheating them selves,aswel as beeing unfair to lads who are genuine novices and so on..........just my take on it Wink

some organisers are different mate,some times podium finishes are considerd...its best to email the organiser befor entering etc....

great response guys,wil defo be putting these things into practise....i got a great pb on deadlift a week ago,so may do all my deads strapless for a while,and not worry about what weight im pulling

true mate,my hands clam up easily,so i need to use it...
ben-the only time i use straps is wen i go over 200 on deads,never use the for any assistance....DOH is the way,holds etc...

i knw,200x3 is the most iv strapless....dead lift also not one of my strong points,but that is improving....im in no rush,these things take time..

i can manage upto 200 without straps,mixed grip...i started to use my fat grips for stiff leg deads DOH....think its safe to say,theres nothing special thats gona help....just consistancy,progression,hard work! just so frustrating when my grip keeps letting me downUnhappy
