How close were you to your max mate ? And would you consider yourself a tricep dominant bencher ?

I honestly haven't even started yet. Just reading an old article in Powerlifting USA and an article on Clarke and his bench caught my imagination. I have been lucky enough to train with the brilliant American Lance Karabel and he reverse gripped over 200kg on several occasions doing it more out of necessity due to an old injury. I would be hoping for a big lift of 220kg as a target . Wether I get it or not is another story

Yes mate heavy on the tris and front delts

He had the same problem as me and couldn't rotate his wrists more than a quarter turn (quite a common condition that impedes deadlift also) so he held the bar with literally his thumb, index and middle finger but his ring finger merely on top of the bar and his pinky was way off it . The bar pressure on the thumb must have been horrible lol

Very interesting mate as always ! I'm still learning even in my senior years lol . Will definitely have a go for a few weeks and see what's possible

Even unofficial would be fun. Just for a bit of a laugh really . Is it definitely outlawed ?

Just a quick question lads. Anyone know if there are any huge British reverse grip benchers? Does anyone claim a record?
Thinking of having a pop at a new feat of strength and a big bench ala Anthony Clarke I think might inspire me to have fun in the gym. Any info would be brilliant cheers

Haha I am at work and was earlier too so had to cut my post short but I was going to go on to say that drug free I found it impossible to lose bodyweight and gain strength.
This is the biggest bugbear for natural lifting and I have yet to see otherwise in 25 yrs of lifting !!! The problem with reaching your ultimate strength peak drugfree means you must increase your bodyweight to such extreme proportions to achieve anything significant i.e records, titles. I'm talking specifically about extreme lifting or dedicating your life to be the best possible lifter not just everyday gym lifting.
