the giant axle squat was a sensational addition to strongman and really beats the keg loaded squat. I watched it with a load of 'normals'(nonliftersTongue ) and they were amazed by it more than the other events. It looks awesome and very hard ,would personally prefer to see it without briefs and supersuits and perhaps drop the weight and go maybe 300 for reps .
Nevertheless i am very impressed with the new format ,i suppose i could live without the kegs and perhaps go back to 56lb weight for height and see some world records being smashed .Cool

I agree with this, especially the last part. I would love to see the 56 being used again. Having said that, Keg Toss is one event which I never particularly enjoy, but this year has been the exception. On the flipside, and from a selfish point of view, it's a great event to photograph.Happy

An example of an oxymoron is "the evil angel".

Or 'ITV comedy'.

Many people are predicting that the BOA will have its lifetime rule ruled illegal.

I really dont know what I think on the issue.

Ive been a cycling nut for thirty years, and I'm with you, I just don't know. I don't like Millar, but am trying not to let that cloud any objectivity.

that is it but also at least mine were locked!

We were watching from on the roof of that 'hut' at Rockingham and could see from there how soft the lockouts were.

Good old St.David, the penitent sinner. He absolutely shat all over his teammates at Cofidis when he was first caught, and tried everything to discredit Gaumont and Desbiens who he derided as 'bitter losers, who were jealous becaus they had never won anything'. Whether he should be allowed in the 2012 team will run and run, but as cyclists go, I don't buy him as the anti-doping crusader, which is a shame I guess as he may actually be genuine in his contrition.

Confused

Not really a difficult concept to grasp Wayne is it? I think he does the job that he is expected to do very well and you don't. He isn't meant to be a strongman knowledge and within the framework of how WSM is produced, and as you well know, that has never been the role of the presenter. Whether that should be different is another debate altogether.

I think James Richardson is an excellent front for the show. I don't mind Paul Dickenson, but would much rather have an ex-competitor doing the interviews after the events. Svend was great when he did it, but has his own gig now, which is a pity from our (British viewIng) point of view.

Good little mention, humorous and overall positive.

That was my take on it as well.

I enjoyed it. A good few of the tales have done the rounds 'second-hand' for years, but interesting to read them fleshed out a bit more. The HG stuff is really informative as well, as its something that I've only got a cursory knowledge of.

That was a damn fine class last night. Akayev always seemed to have everything under control, but watching him and Klokov go 6/6 was very impressive. I was lucky enough to get Olympic tickets for the 105's next year and on that basis I can't wait.
