I think Tony is posting the rules some point soon.

Just to point out that the minimum distance on the conans is HALF A TURN, not 10 metres, there's no way of measuring that unless we bust out with the Pi.

Im scottish and I love pie

30kg/5
40kg/3
50kg/1
60kg/1

40kg/5
60kg/5
70kg/3

90kg/1 Very fast as well. Reckon a PB will be along soon.

Good session but have a sore arm from stones on saturday so the 25 doubles were a bit sore on it.

Robbo said:Millsy- cheers mate. I think it will be a keeper every couple of months or so. He was surprised with all the lumps of s**t in my back (technical term) and I had a lump the size of a marble in my shoulder! f**king agony! Think if I'm doing this game, I need to look after myself. The powerlifters use him and was very impressed!

Who did the massage mate? was thinking of getting one before OD2 but if you know someone good then I may go there. How much £££ was it?

Yeah your pretty lucky really, kinda dangerous passing out holding a 110kg ball of concrete! Would love to come down again before the comp, need the practice but money is looking pretty tight at the mo. (cost me £30 in petrol last time Embarassed)

Was more concerned about the log smashing me head in really. £30 on petrol? You are in b'ham aint you? There are plenty of strongmen in that area. I may be down there in the future as my companys head office is there so we could go grab a session sometime. Tongue

jamspastic said:I pretty much blacked out on the stones last week but managed to stay on my feet so well done to you for managing to pass out twice in one day and ending up on your back lol! But srsly, good training ses mate! Looking foward to comp now?

I just glad nothing landed on me. Was asking richards what happened on the second passing out and he didnt even seem shocked when he told me I blacked out again.

Session was ok but I think I could do better but it all counts. Getting excited/worried about comp. You down OSG next saturday? would be good to see you beasting things again. Grin

Yeah mate, once mike got shouting at me I started the whole explode up onto the toes which helped a lot

Todays training as OSG (Saturday 14th August 2010):

Good crew today with richards, gaz, joni, jc, smalls and mike

6" log press
(52kg/3,3*,3) Blacked out on the 3rd rep and ended up on the floor. Much to everyones amusement. No injury sustained. Embarassed

12" log press
62.5kg/1
75kg/0,0 Nearly but not quite, Confident this will go for a double on the day - just the volume of push pressing Im doing seems to leave me tired
62.5kg/1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 Practicing the technique as I dont clean it right under my chin

Stones:
70kg to 55"/1
103kg to 55"/0
103kg to 49"/0 Managed to black out on this one. Never thought I would wake up on my back with richards looking down on me...

Mike jumped in and told me to breath and gave me some advice:
70kg to 61"/2
70kg to 61"/2 + 70kg to 55"/2

Mike said that I shy away from the stone and that I need to learn a higher platform - It was good advice as I struggle with the top of the lift.

Of all the people who have given me advice - Mike has been the best so far, he should be a coach really - feel I should be paying him. Grin

An ok session apart from lack of volume and blacking out. Was very tired which I think caused part of the problem.

Also note for anyone - dont wear rehbands on your drive home, my knees were in agony until I took them off.

Not the uni blue boat. Just college 1st eight. The Uni boat tends to consist of lanky 6'6 Canadians/Yanks who've narrowly missed Olympic trials. They come to Oxford/Cambridge for a year, pick up a 3rd class micky mouse degree, get the prestige of an Oxbridge Blue and then bugger off back their countries to trial for the national team boat again.
Their 2k times tend to hover around 6 mins and under! Truly world class stuff.

Yeah I wondered about you being 1st boat- I forget about oxford having all those colleges. Have seen the stupid stuff they do to draw in the olympic standard beasts with the naff degrees - almost ruins the race I think (redgrave called it the 'tea party' once). We had a guy once who could pull a sub 6:20 which for only 6 foot was massive.

Good stuff. I like the sweat thing. Just wash them once a year or so and it'll be fine Happy

The wife has given me warnings about fungus knees so i think more frequent washing will be employed (see if I can get her to do it Wink )
