So one thenWink

Is that weak triceps or lack of speed of the chest so you stall at the top?

Definitely tris..

I know Macca fails at the top, as does Sob so it is fairly common. The slingshot type devices must help with the overload they allow. I use ram but as I've just switched back from shirted to raw my lockout is stronger now anyway!

interesting points,

i wont be wearing a shirt so the RAM is out,

it is for the tris so slingshot seems the right choice

nick was down last night and gave me his ballista, the seams are all gone from the 1st time he used it but i figured it would be ok with the weights ill be using. or at least ill find out tongiht

plan is just do some cg then throw it on for a couple of sets after, is that the right approach?

My ballista snapped on 100kg and after 2 months was stretched so basically gave nothing!

SS will last forever ! And you can use it how you like, I warm up paused put it on t&g then some paused work raw after, to train top end in SS and Lower end raw paused

I ain't no bench specialist though

interesting

my thinking was use it as an accessory, much like incline or dumbells, the best accessory to pressing is simply more pressing in my head

See I rarely fail on lock-out but lost drive around 2/3 of the way through at times... Strong off chest and strong lock-out but seem to lose drive at times midrange

Benched for the 1st time last night on boards and all was well until around 180kg'ish and lost my line and it just went downhill from there so need to do more of these as well...

im the same, but its a variant and more pressing instead of say pushdowns will be more beneficial. movement patterns or some balls.

Good to use to build lock out power really as it will help rebound from the chest with much heavier weight than your used to, a lot have sticking points 3-4" off the chest and this will aid that portion of the lift IMO.

I have a super ram and use it even for close grip full rom reps.

Just anther tool, suppose kind of like using boards but you get a full rom rep.

I do lots of tricep pushdowns and parallel bar dips etc... Just seems to be a sticking point currently.

A good lot of NG benching is done as well... It's just a plateau I've hit so will need to have a change for a while and it'll soon come back Happy

I'm after as close to 200kg as possible for 2013 on the bench!
