It's all just a simple equation regardless of height. Strong=Time+effort+nutrition.
Everyone is different, you will only get as strong as you want to be and the effort you put in.
For the record I'm 5'7" Current max's are: Deadlift 260(soon to be broken)
Squat 220
Bench 130x2
FTOH 115 (axle)
log 102.5
As for events I've done Farmers 155x10m, 59kg Monster dumbell, 147kg stone to 53",
amongst other things, and I am far from one of the strongest on here.

Statically id say a short person should have an advantage over a taller person.

Something that people take for granted unless it gets broken, is functioning stable joints. If you have good joints you can get as strong as you want pretty much.

You might be thinking I am talking random nonsense, but seriously if you have painful unstable joints the game is up before its even started. You cant do any lifts heavy or consistently, you have to use weird grips and stances to cope and spend most of your time trying to adjust your body so it hurts less.

If your body is functional and injury free you have an enormous amount of potential at your fingertips whatever your height or bodyshape is. Just apply loading to body, eat, sleep and repeat.

I agree, for bench and squat short guys should have a natural advantage with more favourable leverages and shorter range of motion.

I agree with what others have said that you should worry less about height weight and all that other stuff and just concentrate on eating right and consistent training and the gains will keep on coming. Just don't expect to be squatting and deadlifting 300 by a week on Tuesday and be patient as there is no quick fix to getting strong.

I was going to site Darren Sadler as an example but JC beat me to it.

And height is not necessarily related to hand size, I'm 6 foot and have tiny tiny hands and short fingers, I barely close my hands around a standard bar and am nowhere near able to do a hook grip. In fact my 5 foot 6 girlfriend's hands are pretty much the same size as mine except my fingers are thicker.
Incidentally I have size ten feet.

JC said:Height (as a strength limitation) is not a factor

Hixxy is 5ft 10"

Darren Sadler is about 5ft 7-8"

Shane (Shanejer) is about 5ft and is very strong

Saddler is 5'10" ain't he.
Andrew 'stumpy' Raines is, as his name suggests, fairly short.

Isn't there a story about Steve Reeves being so offended at Mr Raines (at the Mr Universe) that he stopped going to bodybuilding shows ?
