Pulled a muscle when I pulled the 200. It was an easy lift and still part of my warmup. It didn't hurt much when I did it, it just felt like a small muscle pull on the way up, I was even thinking of carrying on for a minute or two. Then I started getting a pain shooting down my leg when I tried to bend over at all. One of the guys I train with said it was the sciatic nerve getting trapped, whatever it is it f**king hurts at the moment, just hope it heals up for next week.

I was going to see how I felt as it got heavy, and go for it if I was on form. Apart from the obvious the 200 felt good. Anyway, hopefully it will go over the next few days. The muscle I pulled doesn't even hurt any more, it's just what I'm assuming is a trapped nerve f**king about with a shooting pain in my leg. Pissed off as I was ready to pb on squat as well :/ Hope I don't have to just bench all next week Grin

Well the back has been giving me some stick over the weekend. I've been icing it and taking ibuprofen which does work, but it's a f**ker first thing in the morning and if I have to bend my lower back at all. I think deads are going to be off limits for a while :/ I wasn't sure how training would go tonight but decided to go but totally back off if there was any pain.

Went to the doctors yesterday, I have sciatica, probably from an inflamed muscle pull, at least it's nothing to do with my spine. Got some stronger anti-inflammatories and codine to help with sleep, they both worked well and today is the first day it feels a touch better. Still a nightmare to put my socks on though Grin

Felt better than the back squats. My left leg was a bit off tonight from the sciatica. I had mild pins and needles in it, and it seemed to be working at about 80% strength so when I was squating / front squating I had to put in more effort with the left leg. Pretty offputting really, at least I got some done.

Cheers Grin I'll hopefully be doing a couple of GBPF powerlifting comps next year, there are a couple of bench only ones as well that look tempting. I'm actually a member of the GBPF and I was intending on competing this year, I just haven't got my ass in gear and actually done any yet. You thinking of doing any?

That's 4 times this week now! I wasn't sure how it would go to be honest, I was feeling a little fried by the end of today but I was still able to put some good graft in. I'm going to try and keep it up as long as my back / leg is screwing about so it might be a few weeks yet, see if I can do a decent pb by the end of it!
