Cheers. I'm in Hull matey. Was hoping to do all strongman events today but it was an hour before closing when I got there so decided to beat the gym record in my weight class on the squat then have a go at the log, just failed the 88, but i know it's there easy when i learn to use my legs properly.

Been thinking about some goals to hit by the end of the year, so to make myself accountable here they are:

Squat 182.5kg (172.5kg)
Close Grip Bench Press 125kg (120kg With Regular Grip)
Deadlift 227.5kg (210kg
Strict Press 80kg (75kg)
Log 95kg (84.5kg)

Goals look very sensible mate, no doubt you'll be able to accomplish those. Get some leg drive into that log (I'd recommend practicing with around 70kg for fast singles...) and 100kg+ will fly with your leg strength.

Just think... 'jump', everything else will fall in to place.

Yeah I think I can get there if I stay injury free and keep training hard and consistantly. I'm doing to do plenty of work with lighter logs working on being explosive, I can tell when I'm doing it that it's almost a strict press by the time I come to pressing.

Really good session today. Felt really strong on military and dips, not so much on chins... as usual. I'll carry on using db's for curls as they don't hurt my wrists. I didn't do my sets of pull ups between sets as I fancy doing a mini session tonight if I have time.

Woke up today feeling ill, tried standing up and almost fell over feeling too dizzy. So I went back to bed this afternoon to try and sleep it off and after about 5 hours sleep I thought I'd have a glass of man the f**k up and get on with it. Wasn't a nice session at all, I felt pretty shocking all the way through and found it pretty hard to concentrate. My form wasn't good, but I'm just happy to get through it.

Cheers dude. I'm not a big fan of deadlifting over 3 reps at the best of times, but it seems to work for me so I just have to get on with it.

Sprints
6 x 20m


Just testing out my hernia problem to see if it will allow me to sprint or not now. I felt no pain at all during any of the sprints, and I felt pretty fast considering I haven't done any sprinting since rugby season finished in May. I'll see how I am in morning and if I don't get any pain I'll slowly add sprints into my training. Touch wood and fingers crossed.
