 Commentators say: he benches like a bodybuilder Member 231, 1873 posts SQ 400, BP 275, DL 3651040.0 kgs @ 135.7kgs Eq | Right my fellow Sugdenites my fellow promotions team and myself have voiced interest about promoting the British version of the under 105s in the past Now from what i can see (only my opinion) is that there has been some controversy in the past with the comp, such as dates being moved to accomodate certain athletes and so on Along with this there has been athletes who have traveled large distances and high expectations have not been met reguarding, running, equipment, facilities and so on We have decided that we can do a better job looking after this great competition and the athletes who bust their balls to train for it now from my personal point of view as part of the Scottish promotions team i have been very disappointed with the poor level of communication from promoters of the Under 105's comps that require Scottish athletes to justify the title of the competition the way i see it, it is our job to promote the Scottish comp and inform Scottish athletes about this comp, but i feel that the promoter of a British or Uks comp should be the one who contacts the promoters of in essence regional comps i will give you an example of how poor the communication is i recieved a phone call from stuart murray saying that he had a phonecall from lawrence brown asking him to do a scottish qualfier for his Britains now we have been running the under 105 for 3 years now and the guy did not make any effort to even find this out let alone contact me, eventually i got his number from carl (cheers mate) and i called him 4 times first time he said he would call me back second he was in a meeting and would call me back third he put me on answer and 4 th i gave up now from what i can see there has been no date or information on this comp after mr brown was telling every one about standardised qualifiers and getting it televised bla bla my self and the other guys who promote the Scottish 105s are sick of the poor treatment athletes and promoters are getting so as of next year we will be running our equivelant of BSM 105kg we feel that the guys from Scotland and the North of England have had to do all the leg work and head down south every year What we can offer is good quality judging, propper weigh-in so its only under 105kg guys who do the comp, good equipment with exciting events, and a great venue we will also be offering cheap accomodation for traveling athletes Glasgow is very easy to travel to and from via great air and rail links Glasgow is closer to a lot of england than previous comp venues this is not pie in the sky if anyone wants to check out our strongman comps please come up to dumbarton on the 25th to see how good we look after our athletes We will keep everyone informed when dates are finalised and i look forward to having a strong communication with the English, and Welsh promoters We look forward to having the best under 105kg atheltes in GB going head to head in Scotland | ||

Member 370, 1520 posts SQ 285, BP 185, DL 302.5772.5 kgs @ 94kgs Eq | yes you are right craig. just got off the phone to him and he will post a date up on here in the next week.. it will be september sometime and after the comp last year he has got someone to sponsor the event for 2 years.. londons strongest man will be on one day and britains will be the next day on its own with prize money.. he said if you want to run a scotish qualifier for this comp he dont have a problem with that. and if you want to call him p.m me and i will send you his number, again his father has just passed away so give the guy a bit of slack | ||

We were hoping to be able to give the guys at the comp some information about the UKs 105s and the possibility of a British 105s. No need to do a separate qualifier,we have all the top guys doing our comp. Hopefully we can do this now.It's my understanding the UKs 105s is now on the 1st August? can anyone confirm? Bsm sept,how many places? 3-4? I can fully appreciate the expense involved is a factor but it would really be great to see the top British 105s in Scotland even if it was for only one year out of six. Cheap accommodation,cheap flights, and venue only 10 minutes from airport,no entry fees,maybe not as much as you might think? We have moved on quite a bit since Braveheart and would make you all most welcome.  | ||

We have moved on quite a bit since Braveheart and would make you all most welcome. agreed... Book early enough and you can get flights for below 40 quid return from most airports on easyjet or around a 10er return on ryanair. Simple, cheap transport links to the accommodation Cheap accommodation (by far the cheapest your likely to get in any major city, especially at weekend.) Transport provided to and from the comp. And theres a year to save for it... your probably talking 200 quid all in including food etc. not much to ask to come show your the best in Britain. | ||
