Since I'm now becoming a pretend athlete and training with two of Scotland's top 100 strongmen, robocop and BigKen, my body is really feeling the increase in training intensity.

I'm constantly feeling tired and have quite sore hips and knees with a constantly pumped lower back and other niggles in my elbows, shoulders, wrists, ribs and lats, traps.

I'm going for my first sports massage tonight and I'm looking at either buying a foam roller or "The Stick" to do some self massage. I need to also make more use of the sauna and jet seat (which is actually quite lame) at the gym. The other possibility I've looked at, which I don't know if I'm man enough to do is to have an ice (cold water tap) bath after my events training for ten mins every week, however, doing some googling I'm getting mixed response.

Now I know others will benefit with this so I'm looking to you all for various recovery tips.

LOL

Are you on a calorie restricted diet or anything like that? Food is very useful for recovery.

Other than that I have heard foam rolling is the future but havent done any myself. Think having little niggles is just the way of the strongman?

Thanks for that mate, considering there are about 30 strongmen max in the country thats some compliment! Roll-Eyes lol

As I've said before, just get on with it! There isn't a day that I wake up not in some sort of pain or discomfort!

I tried the ice cold bath treatment and it did nothing for me except make my balls ache!

Some top athletes swear by it though.

Ample porn and furious masturbation has never seen me far wrong. Give it a try. The worst that can happen is you get off. Win win.
