Owen, go steady on the weights when you get back into it and see if there is any discomfort. Whilst what previous posts have said could be a factor you won't get an accurate diagnosis over the internet. Only seeing a specialist will narrow down to the root cause of the problem. If all is well at the gym it certainly won't harm incorporating some stretches as a regular part of your routine. Also deep heat will not speed up the recovery process.

Okay, well i started stretching my hip flexors, hams, it band and adductors. When i stretched my left ham, it pulled my back a bit (my pain is on the left side of my back) so i guess its connected. Apart from that, ive just been resting up, but keeping mobile. Just see how it goes eh.
Recommend still doing my bench days? or no weights altogether if it hurts?

Stick with the stretching Owen. Regardless of physio etc... You only posted on the 21st - stretching may take months to increase flexibility and alleviate discomfort. Just keep it going, to prevent further injury at least!!

Its very frustrating I know!!

Wishing you a speedy and complete recovery.. All the best!Happy

had physio today, very painful massage but felt quite nice and could feel the muscles relaxing, and he said he could too. Total rest today and tomorrow and no heat until monday. Just ice every half an hour for 1.30 mins. He said its the "piriformis" and he seemed to know his s**t, so lets wait and see.
