Was a good comp overall, still to much f**king around and not enough getting on with it for my liking.

Log was good

Deadlift was good, although I would still like to see proper deadlifts with proper weights to test strength.

Grip thing was wank

Farmers - well its farmers and the big farmer was good at it so fair do's

Medley was good

Stones are well, the stones so all good.

Jimmy was his usual self and funny.
That young lad (unsure of his name Jack maybe???) who was outweighed by about 5 stone a man did f**king well, good shape for a deadlifter too and pelanty of time to get some timber on.

Westerby gets my respect though, he is just a mountain of a man and the nicest bloke ever, just a strong f**ker from wanging bails of hay around and hard graft.

Awesome day. I thought it would have been funny if the farmers were timed until they hit the floor! I agree with Joni, better sound, interviews, and a scoreboard and it would have been perfect. (oh, and a better set up on the hgercules hold)
I also got to meet one of the all time greats of strongman...

I bought some nose tork off you. I might take a hit now, I'm feeling sleepy. Those belts looked nice.

please continue with the comment's guy's, some mistakes were obvious, but NOTHING that couldnt be fixed, (well apart from pleasing Matt Griff).
Everything is being taken on board.. so please carry on, we need to get this right, ...
I new the athlete's would put on a good show, and I new you would get to see what genuinely great fun guy's they all are (regardless of how they apear on tv)....
There was to many peaople involved to thank, .... but my biggest Thank's has to go to the Stewards....all 12 of them, kept everything moving quickly,(were completely on the ball), I would like to be able to book them for future job's with payment.... (and that's not going down the chippendales route)before you do.
thanks a million im going to forward every score sheet to boar for him to maybe try to get on here some where, ... (I know I messed up not having a score board)

Enjoyed the comp', good to see the big fellas in action, particularly enjoyed the Farmers Walk, loved the tiered seating, loved the programme (pretty much essentail given the sound problems), real shame about the sound system and to a lesser degree the hercules issues (particularly for Jack).

Very generous reffing on the deadlift and quite generous on some of the log lifting too (would have been far fewer reps given if Tony was reffing - that is for sure!).

Joni/Buzz - the belts looked awesome! I don't need one at the mo' but fancy one of those lever belts in the future.

Anyone know what the winning raffle ticket number was?

Aside having better audio and scoresheets somehow to keep everyone involved the real problem was that grip thing, the chains were not adjusted that much, some guys had the whistle belw on them while still holding on as due to natural stretching as you expect the container touched at the bottom. its not grip failing so its a bit harsh in my eyes.

I also think side refs on deads would be good, very few of those reps were locked out.

doesnt really matter if the same rule goes for everyone? It is the inconsistancy of reffing that can be a problem, not if it is consistanly relaxed or strict.

ayebygum - need to give you some public respect in terms of how relaxed you were during the day! Was that just quality acting? Grin

You win the most relaxed promotor award of 2009.

Apart from whats already been mentioned...
All the head to head events were great and got the audience going more, so as many head to head events as possible. In yesterdays events the only difference that would have made would have been for the deadlift. Also, maybe some music playing. ALso, maybe something to get the crowd warmed up a bit before the comp starts, as people were a bit quiet at first. Dunno what though.
