Cambered bar squats are by far the hardest squat variation ive come across. Even with such a light weight maintaining balance coming iut of the hole was tricky. Paused squats felt fairly comfortable, but my knees were really suffering. I think ive been away from my physio and ultrasound too long. Should get that rectified next week. Now for the really bad news, i had to take my lever belt down to the hole below my usual 'skinny' hole. I shall name this the 'do you even lift' hole, and hopefully wont be spending too much time with it. | ||

Starting to feel a bit more like myself now. Bw still a long way down, but should be rising again by now. Yoke started off really slow, but got better by the final run. Stones was really just a chance to check out some new competition grade spider tacky, which was very impressive stuff. | ||

Dead stop incline bench 80 * 5, 100 * 5, 5, 5, 5, 120 * 5. A much better session tonight than last weeks pressing. Garage is pretty much set up and sorted now so I can walk in and train without getting distracted by jobs i could be doing. Monster log is taking a lot of getting used to, bloody thing is huge, and the axle sized handles aren't easy on my forearms either. Its comfortable enough to strict press, but trying to keep the balance when i want to use leg drive is really challenging me. | ||

Hammer grip chins, 3, 3, 4. Some slight progress since last week. Still on the 'do you even lift' hole on my belt, which has me a little surprised as ive been back to proper eating this week. Should hopefully be back to the skinny hole by next week. | ||

Beltless paused front squats 140 * 3, 3, 3, 3, 3. Minimal knee pain today, which was nice. Lower back and hams also werent too sore after deadlifts. Squats all moved pretty quick, should get 200 on the cambered bar next week, and 5 plates a side for back squats. Weight is climbing, over 20'7 now, so starting to close in on my usual 'resting' weight of 21st. | ||

Tyre flip 280 * 5, 5, 280 * 14 - PB. Decent session. Yoke was a bit slow, but better than it has been. Grip felt solid on frame, and tyre was good. Final set was a rep PB amd definitely had me breathing hard. | ||

Dead stop incline press 100 * 5, 120 * 3, 130 * 1, 105 * 5, 125 * 3, 135 * 1. Not a bad session, but the difficulty in pressing the monster log means i havent put a heavy weight overhead for quite a while, so i think i will add in a 2nd pressing session to do some heavier reps on an oly bar or standard log. | ||

Lay around all day today with a sore lower back, and decided to skip training. Then by about half 7 id convinced myself to stop being a b**ch and at least do something. The above is what resulted. Not good, barely even decent, but slightly better than nothing. | ||

Still dealing with some sort of lower back problem. But prescription strength codeine is taking the edge off, so im not suffering too much. No events today, so did the deadlift session i skipped earlier in the week. Pull ups are getting a lot easier, might add some weight in another week or two. Bw is almost back to the 21st mark, yet im still easily fitting into the 'do you even lift' hole on my belt, my power belly seems to have ran away. | ||

Forgot to take any anti inflammatories pre training and was made to regret it. That said im fairly happy with how manageable front squats felt and that i got a decent volume of them in. Had hoped to do 5 * 5 squats, but my knees squealed their protests on the first rep so i called it. Will try to get them in either after deadlifts tomorrow or with pressing on Saturday. | ||

Knew i needed to get up to at least a 320 single to have some confidence heading into Elite Englands next week. The rep was a bit slow, but i definitely had a 2nd one there if not for the plates falling off. Then dropped down and hit some doubles, final set was the fastest. Starting to feel like training is back on track after moving house and getting used to training in the garage. Pressing on for tomorrow. | ||
