One day dude
Always failed 250-260 whenever I tried it though
Next time I am build up better rather than try rushing the peak

That is some monstrous benching. What does a good build up look like to you.
I don't bench near what you do but I feel like a rush it as well. Feel strong, get too keen and then s**t out right when I feel like I've got a PB in me.

Well. I can bench 220x1 on my worst day unless I am injured.
So, a buildup normally starts with me cruising on not much gear and good for around 220-225.
I would start on 160 or so and rep. Then just add some weight each week and lower the reps. Typical linear periodisation but generally I do 2-3 waves leading up to a comp, hopefully pbing with each weight on each wave. I mix up tng and paused too but generally pause everything below 3 reps.

Yesterday - cg incline up to 140x13 then fluff.

Today - 260x8 squat then some hamstrings

theres not many people 140+ who can do the volume you do. its impressive. how far out from a comp do you start tappering down the reps?

I did an hour of chest and back today.

I train like a bodybuilder year round but 8 weeks out or so I switch to the Lillebridge method. Once doing that my top set is a single one week then a 3-5 rep set the next.

Thanks for sharing sam. As a noob the final few months before a comp are still an area of experimentation.

I have best results off Lillebridge style prep except I squat every week and pull light. I don't ever pull heavy in training.

I'm currently on the lillebridge method. Enjoying the high rep assistance.

On bench hit 26 reps with 85 today on an empty stomach. Wanted f**king 30.

I'm two weeks in. I like it. I think it is great for recovery.

Great to see a quality lifter giving his opinion. Cheers mate!!
