5 minutes? That's athlete standard!

I focus on explosive power... I warm them up with intense oral work, so when it comes to the main course I can use some speed work while keeping good form. Explosive start and finish, generally over in under a minute.

Anyway.

Upper back today. 20 sets of various s**t. Fat gripz were used on a lot of sets because my lat felt tender at the insertion point and I didn't want to go near failure. 100kg lat pulldowns for multiple sets of 20 with fat gripz really do pump up everything from the fingers to the lower lats.

Bodyweight 158kg - trying to get to the point where I walk around at 145-150 as part of my recomp idea.

Never trust a fart and never ignore a twinge - you can't go wrong in life if you stick to that!:P

It was a little sore after rowing 240kg. More than doms but not grade 1 tear if that makes sense?

Haha. I haven't had the best luck injury wise in my life but as above I'm more sensible now. I automatically shut down any exercise that causes pain - even if it is one of the main lifts. If bench is hurting a switch to narrow grip inclines or even dumbbells is a much better choice than just pushing through.

Jam tarts help recovery too.

I can well imagine...I've yet to go the full-on Jam Tart route but I have been having a lot of luck recently with Mince Pies for recovery...something to consider perhaps if your Jam Tart Receptors ever start to shut down?

Switching to mince pies is always a good bet. The downside is they cause gear moles and a blown face but everything good in life has a price.

220 x 3... Absolute beast!

I'm going to inject some mince pies into myself, maybe even stack them with jam tarts.

Beast.

I'm loving the banter on your fb. All top Brits arguing about, who is going to bench first 600 and total first 1000.

Ed's quietly sitting there thinking, when is he going to bench 700 and total 1150!!!

Haha. I even said that. Ed could pretty much do 1000 without a bench.
