Moat sportsmen at the top level are though and anyone who thinks otherwise is naive.

How can you possibly know this?

Just because a few cheats test positive and then claim everyone at the top is doing the same is very poor evidence.

Avoiding a positive test is part of the game. Rules say clean when tested that also can and is interpreted as take anything you want to but don't get caught

Surely given the fact that there are numerous options to compete in untested federations you could just go and do that rather than cheating. This is a very sad sentiment as I can only assume that you wanted to compete in tested comps to have an easier time of it rather than compete against guys who are openly using.

Didn't you watch the panorama documentary? Their is also a really good documentary called bigger faster stronger where they exposed carl Lewis had failed a drug test but the usa covered it up. Also don't you think lance Armstrong being the most tested athlete ever makes a mockery of the whole drug testing system? Justin gatlin is also making a joke of the system, I mean he's running a lot faster now at an older age than when he tested positive. You can't tell me he's now natural and running faster than when he was full of drugs.

Alan Wells supposedly taking PEDS 35 years ago is pretty irrelevant to what is going on today. Testing in the UK changed quite significantly in the 80/90s when I competed and what may have been unofficially acceptable at first certainly isn't now. And accusations against Salazar is a long way from proof that MOST current top athletes are cheating.

How about the fact that in athletics vast numbers of records haven't been broken for 10/15 + years? Or the 10% increase in times taken on comparable Tour de France rides?

And the fact it was/is possible to beat the testing system doesn't mean everyone one trying to.

Re Gatling (and 100m in general). Given we know definitely, due to failed tests, that most of the Carl Lewis era were definitely cheating it is curious how athletes are now running so much faster "naturally"

So why did you choose to cheat in a tested federation if you are able to compete untested?

(with respect to the parts in bold) Certainly the women’s world records in the 100, 200 and 400 — 10.49, 21.34, 47.60 — all were set in track’s doping high times of the 1980s, and they seem unapproachable/unbeatable. It is interesting to note that there was no mandatory out of competition (OOC) testing. Wiki states Griffith Joyner retired from competitive track and field after her Olympic triumph in 1988.She was repeatedly tested during competition, and she did not fail any of these drug tests.Mandatory random out-of-competition drug testing came into effect during the 1989 season.

All of your achievements don't change the fact that you cheated in one of the very few sports in the world where there are options to compete untested.

Why did you feel the need to cheat in a tested federation when you could have just chosen one of the untested ones?

it's not cheating if everyone else is doing it. you are talking about something you don't know about its an obvious thing when you look at all the stuff that's published on the TV and papers ect

Of course it's still f**king cheating! Just because other people are doing it doesn't make it ok. In a sport like powerlifting where there are untested feds if you choose to use and compete tested you are a c**t. End of.

I've always been fairly open about my use... Really have no idea what point you are trying to make. I don't compete in tested comps.
