As for standard blood transfusions, it seems an awful lot of effort for what its worth and still carries considerable risk no? Especially when done on a ghetto budget, in a hotel room.

If you are even halfway careful it's small beer, especially when you consider some of the other practices that they might be engaged in.

It's useful for anything involving physical exertion.

It can make you go harder for longer, be it over 10 seconds, a minute, a day...

Sprinting is nearly entirely anaerobic, however on EPO you would have considerably higher oxygen availability to the muscles.

Faster and more explosive, fuel for the fire. You'll also recover a lot faster.

On the downside, red blood cell gravy ain't no good for the circulatory system/heart.

Fair nuff, I can see where you're coming from in that respect. I'll take your word for it.

Won't be trying it myself anytime soon though Roll-Eyes

from what I recall of that interview he said the 1st thing he'd put any of his athletes on was EPO.

Every strongman I have ever spoken to doesn't have a clue about EPO. Some might have vaguely recalled Lance Armstrong using it.

In any case it's way behind in the science now. Things like GW1516 are enhancing people at the genetic level and AICAR at the metabolic.

Conclusion: Moron.

This is almost as annoying as when people dont use the word "ignorant" right

Newer PEDS.

The historical or traditional weapons of choice are pretty much redundant among the super rich/elite these days.

The only way to truly combat PEDs in sports is to have a truly retrospective system going back say 25 years from the point of a competition to allow science to catch up.
