Haven't trained since Sunday because work has been horrific. If I have a day off my body feels disgusting; weak, creaky and slow.

Today felt nasty, but got all my planned work done:

Front Squats
60 x 3
80 x 3
100 x 2
120 x 2
132.5 x 1
142.5 x 1
137.5 x 3

Snatch high Pull + Low Hang Snatch, from deficit
40 x 1 + 2
50 x 1 + 2
60 x 1 + 2
70 x 1 + 1
80 x 1 + 1
85 x 1 + 1 x 2
80 x 1 + 1 x 3

Deficit Cleans
60 x 2
80 x 2
100 x 1
105 x 1
110 x 1
115 x 1
110 x 2 x 2
105 x 2 x 3

Power Jerks
60 x 2
80 x 2
90 x 2
100 x 2 x 6

Yep, plenty of good work despite not feeling great.

I'm the same when I don't train so have started trying to do atleast something, very light stuff to keep me ticking over.

Thanks lads.

Training is basically on maintenance for another week I think. Literally have no time or I'm not able to get to a gym most days. Its one of those situations where work and life throws you a bunch of curve balls.

Hate how it makes me stiffen up and feel my age though (if you're reading this Littler - NO! Don't even think about it Happy). Think I'm like you Youngy, I need to do something every day to feel OK. I do stretch my hips out and that but it needs to be more than stretching really. Makes everything feel slow and heavy.

Anyway, big session planned tomorrow.

Well, Sunday didn't happen but I managed to get a decent one in today and felt better for it. Rounded my weights down a bit because of the lack of training but once I warmed up I actually lifted really well.

Paused Snatch
40 x 2
50 x 2
60 x 2
70 x 2
80 x 1
85 x 1(great rep)
87.5 x 1 (bit short, but still really sharp)
80 x 2
82.5 x 2

Power Clean + Jerk
60 x 1 + 1 x 2
80 x 1 + 1 x 2
90 x 1 + 1
100 x 1 + 1
105 x 1 + 1
107.5 x 1 + 1
110 x 1 + 1
105 x 2 + 1 x 2

Front Squats
60 x 3
90 x 3
110 x 3
120 x 3
125 x 3
127.5 x 3
130 x 3

Then did a bunch of curls and other such stuff. I think that paused snatches are my favorite snatch variation. They just seem to iron out all of the technical things I need to work on and I hit my reps well (good timing, no twisting and hit bottom 99% of the time). Was talking to Chris about it. The pause gives you that little of bit of time to make sure your positions are spot on and because you then pull the bar from a hang position (around the knee area), you have to really finish and get under the bar quick. For me they seem to train technique as well as strength.

Jerks felt really good today too. I've been doing mostly power jerks and today thought I would just do split jerks. All the powers mean that my dip and drive was spot on. If only I could get in a bit more regularly!

At least you still stiffen up. lol.

tbh mate, I'm very much the same. I don't have to lift everyday, but I get pissed off if I can't do something. On the odd day that I take the car to work I sit in work sulking that I have to drive home and can't cycle. Funny what we get used to.

First session back since my last post. Not one to piss and moan but things got mental and I wasn't really in a position to train. Getting old and having responsibilities is s**t. Don't stay in school kids. F**k that.

Today, however, was actually pretty good.

Front Squats
50 x 3
70 x 3
90 x 2
110 x 2
120 x 2
130 x 2
135 x 2
140 x 2
130 x 2 x 2

Snatch
40 x 3
50 x 3
60 x 2
70 x 2
80 x 1
82.5 x 1
85 x 1
87.5 x 1
90 x 1
85 x 2 x 2

Clean and Jerk
60 x 2
80 x 2
90 x 1
100 x 1
105 x 1
110 x 1
105 x 2 + 1 x 2

I hate weightlifting. About a week ago I had quit it. I was stressed out, pissed off and in a c**t of a mood. I was thinking that I was no longer really in a position to dedicate the time to it that I need to and should just stop, save myself a ton of frustration, hip pain and free up time that I don't really have to spare. So in my head, I was done with it. I was probably just going to buy myself some vests and do some curls and kickbacks with my face 2 inches away from a mirror in some s**tty gym somewhere. Went in today because Chris was back and asked me. Certainly not heavy weights but I don't think I've ever lifted so well.

...and so it continues. Again.

Well done mate.

I'm in the same position. Not the quitting position but I feel like I'm going backwards and I feel ok then comes to training and I'm just f**king s**t. So f**king frustrating. I need some motivation and a kick in the arse. Or face.

Aggravating isn't it? Weightlifting has been one of the hardest things I've tried to do. So many things can go wrong with your lifting but every now and then you get one of those aha moments or a series of good sessions that pushes you on. I had one of them today. Which is typical because I think I would have been happy to think sod it.

And you're not s**t. Your fast, have a silly front squat and strong legs and are probably somewhere along the autism spectrum. All characteristics of someone who is going to be an awesome lifter IMO.

Next Friday mate. That's all I will say Wink

Just a lucky guess based on the fact that you travel 80 miles to do a training session and have spent ££££ on bars and plates so you can train wherever you need to.
