His training has been awesome, fingers crossed he will get 270+ total. He was doubling 115 on snatches other day easily and clean and jerked 150 recently too. The powers weren't great but my squat felt the best since I can remember. Weight felt light, it was pain free and had some speed. I dare say I had another 5kg. Buzzing with that. Strict press felt great too, I felt like I could have repped out 90 for a good few; 95 was a bit tougher but has gone up 5kg since I last did a single. I maybe, maybe had 97.5 if I was to grind it a bit. Bench felt pretty good up to 120 then it just felt heavy in my hands. I haven't held more than 110 in my hands in a ages so I wasn't surprised but was pretty happy anyway. Think I could get this over 140 again by end of the year. | ||

Yesterday: Snatch from blocks/mid thigh 50 x 3 60 x 3 70 x 3 x 6 Power Clean from blocks/mid thigh 50 x 3 70 x 3 80 x 3 90 x 3 x 6 Front Squats 60 x 3 100 x 3 120 x 3 x 4 Snatch Deadlifts, from mid-shin 120 x 5 140 x 5 150 x 5 x 3 Today: Snatch 50 x 3 60 x 3 70 x 2 80-82.5 x 1 x 10 (very short rest periods) Squats: 60 x 3 100 x 3 122.5 x 10 x 3 Strict Press, paused 50 x 3 60 x 3 70 x 10 67.5 x 10 65 x 8 (dead!) Close Grip Bench 60 x 3 87.5 x 10 x 3 My god reps are awful. Glad I am easing into it because I am de-conditioned. Had some great speed on my squats but I felt like I had been kicked in my lungs. Think I may have underestimated how tough doing the 10s overhead would be with pauses on the pressing; 70kg was getting close on my limit towards the end of the set and I was beginning to grind pretty hard. Think I want to iron a couple of technical things out on my pull. I have a weird dynamic start and I'm wondering if it affects my positioning during the 1st pull a bit. Want to work on that and footwork during the catch-receipt. | ||
