Of course stone for height favours the taller guy. Doesn't mean a shorter guy won't win tho lol

Wanna see the results y it all so hush hush?

Who won wat, reps, weights...........etc etc

Gaz may be getting his arm looked at. But:

Keg run: 1st me, 2nd Gaz, 3rd phil I think

Viking think 1st was mark steel

Tyre 1st Gaz, 2nd me, 3rd Scott metcalf

Dead 1st me, 2nd Gaz, 3rd phil or Steve I think

Stone 3 way tie for 1st; turned into a pressing contest!! Me, mick and phil.

it was a 4 way split on stones with mark steel been the 4th

i though the stone for height was a crap event far to many points shared. Shame it couldnt of been a stone run or some thing

Tight between you and Gary then... presumably he placed several places better than you on Viking?

Well done by the way!

Fairly sure it was a 3 way split on stones tbh. Have to wait for Gaz to post results I guess, as I'm not 100% sure.

Think Gaz beat me by 2 places on Viking. Came down to 1 point in end. Thanks Ben!!

Yep, your right, apologises. It was a 4 way tie.

It was an ok event, I would have preferred a stone run with a 200kg plus end stone, but you can't pick events just the comps you do.

There seems to be a lot of posts about the tall and the short. As an average height for strongman I can say that the comp was about perfect for me.

To the guys who r slating the comp, ask yourselves... 'what have you done for strongman as a sport?' I'm pretty sure whining and making noise doesn't contribute much.
Throw a competition and see how much effort, time and money needs to be spent. Then come back and privately provide constructive criticism to improve the sport.

Thanks Gaz for throwing the comp and well earnt win, even at the price of a torn bicep hope it heals quickly Unhappy

I'm still entitled to my opinion though.. I paid my money to watch and have an opinion.. My girlfriend who is new to the sport was watching n couldn't believe the bias! I understand a lot of hard work goes into putting on a contest.. But to put on a contest and hand pick the events so it's in your favour is wrong and no good for the sport in my opinion..

I thought it was a well run competition which went very smoothly. As a spectator I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Thanks to Gary and his team for putting in the hard work.

I personally don’t think the overall competition was biased. Height should have been an advantage on the stone (although one of the joint winners was the shortest competitor), but it was a disadvantage in the low pick-up on the press, which was about waist height for Gary. Also I find 18” deadlifts are more advantageous to the shorter lifters.
