Nice work Dave Happy

Is there anything physically stopping you from re-building and going into opens again mate? Or is it mentally you don't want it anymore?

You got a ton of talent mate, evident when I watched you compete at Worcester last year and I think you'll do well no matter what you chose. Ultimately I guess it comes down to what makes you happy.

Physically? Only doubt really. It was a pretty rare injury, not a common surgery, and almost non existent in strength athletes. So there's no precedent for recovery. There's no reason I won't be able to get to the same strength, and more. That doesn't however mean I will be able to.

Mentally I don't know if I want it enough to put myself through all that again, and it's difficult not to think about getting another, or the same, physical injury. I'm not getting any younger, and I want to be able to lift until I'm an old man. The pressure I would put on myself to become better than ever is a major factor in my thinking.

Right now I guess I just need to put the work in for works sake and see where it gets me?

Been really busy with work so haven't lifted since Saturday. Everything up on last week, generally pretty pleased as this was a 1400h session fuelled by only a small bowl of porridge at 0800h! (I hasten to add that this was due to being busy rather than deliberately eating like a baby hamster)

Do you do Bulgarian split squats with a bar or dumbbells? I have weak legs and thought these might help?

With a barbell Dan. This is to raise the centre of gravity to emphasise the unilateral aspect. With dumbbells I find you'll just sink into them with the DB's by your side and stabilising you, and largely negates the benefit gleaned from doing split stance work.
