Never really thought about it or had any issues with it tbh. also there's a mirror I can see my left leg in so at least have some gauge for depth. although it may not be perfect.

Often use a proper squat rack so can walk out backwards as you've suggested.

Will try to other way next time and see how it goes, Grin

Looking at the mirror to gauge your depth while squatting is a horrible idea! Just fact outwards.

Thanks for all the tips and guidance, pretty new to lifting for strength - so all gratefully received to get keep things going upwards. So we have:

Core work for stability
Paused deep squats
Face outwards and concentrate on lift.
Need to keep up the stretching and rollering to losen my hips up and keep my knees and back in close to working order (they're both a bit rubbish)

Still about a 6-2 split in favour of it being claimable. Wink

If your happy claim it ?

Some say if you have to ask then it ain't in

Some say its a training lift and who cares

Only you can decide.

Cheers, I thought it was just in by the absolute skin of my teeth. I was interested to get some less-biased opinions

I know I need to sort my hips and flexibility to get deeper

The squat looked good, although you're not really steady before shuffling backwards.

I've never seen anyone unrack the bar like that, just face into the gym.. This will also stop you squatting in front of the mirror, if you ever do compete in squats there won't be a mirror there!
