I took about £4 out of Sooty's bottom Member 685, 8719 posts SQ 225, BP 150, DL 290665.0 kgs @ 93kgs UnEq | From my journal YORKSHIRES STRONGEST MAN U90K Felt pretty good this morning despite accidentaly nailing 8cans of stella last night. There was a rumour going round I weighed in today at nearly 96k ...I started it.24hr weigh in might have helped me at this comp but f**k me I better drop some fat for ESM where there isn't one. CAR DEADLIFT Was a little worried about this event as despite my pulling going well recently I didn't like the look of the set up and everyone kept saying this type of pull favoured good squaters.I was fairly early out on this event but Jamie was out before me and he was the best puller in the comp on paper. He nailed 14 reps for the early lead and I started thinking I might struggle to hit double figures. I put my feet well forward on the first rep but this felt horrible so I moved them back and made it more like a normal pull and this felt better. I knocked out about nine or ten reps easily but then the s**t hit the fan quickly.I managed to equal Jamie's 14 but number 15 was going nowhere.Eric and Liam both nailed 17 iirc and Boar put on a real master class to destroy us all with 24/25 reps.Joint 3rd. MEDLEY OF DOOM I really fancied this one but my legs were f**ked from the deadlift and having watched Boar put up a good time I started to feel less confident.A lot of lads seemed to be pacing themsleves but I decided to just smash it and hope I held up to the drag.My plan worked but if the drag had been a kilo heavier I think I would have gassed.1st place. DUMBELL Was dreading this and feared it would cost me any chance of placing in the top 5.I was really worried about no repping but to my shock I managed to knock out 6 reps which while still s**t and very costly points wise probably is the performance that decided my final placing.7/8th place ??? BULMERS SHAFT I'd done two in training and everyone seemed to think I would do well due to my height ( for a U90ker) but my legs were like f**king jelly after the deadlift and medley. I was up first and managed to just get three reps. Four would never have gone even fresh so I was happy with this and happy to be beaten by anyone that nailed four. As it was I held the lead up until Boars turn where he matched my three.Gotta mention Eric here as he showed real fighting spirit by shouldering his second rep all the way up. Balls of steel mate! Joint 1st YOKE Another good event for me on paper and after watching a few people go I knew I could do well if I performed to my best but ...as I kept moaning about all day my f**king legs were ruined and I was convinced it would be drop city. Hixxy suggested a bit of stretching and this may of helped because I managed to go pretty well and nail my third event win of the day. 1st place. YORKSHIRE STONE CARRY I was third going into this.Eric could overtake me if he won and I came last and I could overtake Liam for second if I finished two places ahead of him.Rob who was in 5th went first and f**king destroyed it with 100m+.He's a cheating bas***d mind you because he used good technique and brute strength which just isn't fair.Eric was up next and took the grip I intended to use. He looked very comfortable and scared the s**t out of me but finally dropped it at 80m after a epic struggle. I was next and after some misguided comments about wearing wraps or gloves being gay the other night went at it RAW .I was pleasantly suprised how comfortable the position was when I got it up and I managed to go past Erics 80 and and do 90m. Liam was next and I knew if he beat Erics 80m but not my 90 I would need Boar to split us for me to get 2nd place overall. I admitted to Liam afterwards that I was begging him to drop it from about 1m but he made me sweat by going right up to about 79m before dropping it and nearly breaking his ankle!Sorry mate! 2nd place. 2nd overall! Cracking comp and I was really pleased with my performance.Overhead is always gonna cost me points in comps but hey ho. If your going to lose to anyone it might as well be Boar. Really want to thank Graham for putting on two cracking weekends of comps which both me and my son have enjoyed. Well done mate your a great addition to the growing list of comp promoters

Boars carlift Eric's finger Bryce's finger Kinghams comp in general Didn't see any of the 105k comp due to it being on at the same time as ours. Our finger being the same weight as the opens and me and Boar matching Simon Flint if I'm not mistaken!!! I'd also like to take full credit for bullying Dan ( General Ill ) into doing todays comp.He finished 7th I think and proved he is a real threat for the future.Great lad who I look forward to competing and trying to stay ahead of in the future.
