Have done nothing but strongman and grip for the last several years. Any fly movements are to stretch or build upperchest for a shelf to rest the log on (so I can apply my leg drive). I can and will work on my explosive power as time goes on. You can't always lift heavy every exercise, every session. This results in a lot of injuries.

(belt)
Axle squat to 180kg x 12
Grippers to coc4 slight set to 1/8"
Bent over row to 160kg x 6 PB
Barbell shrug slow pause at top to 160kg x 6
Rack pull top of knee cap to 300kg x 10 PB
Romanian deadlift to 180kg x 10

Weighed in starkers at 111.8 after this and been as good as possible last few days so u90's not looking good :s Am in 2 minds with it as I don't want to waste the cycle dieting hard if I can't make weight anyway, and also do I really want to be hardly eating anything rest of the year to keep the weight down for future comps? Then the other end of it is the weights are no problem. Can see 200k x 10 squat without too many issues, the yoke would be really easy, can't see me getting less than 6 or 7 on the log, maybe 8-9, the car hold can't see any way of losing and a 350 tyre I'm sure I could flip 8-10 times without any practice. The best other option in my mind is go for UK's in open, which I would like to do more, but I think just getting to uk's at opens would be harder than getting to world's at 90's / I don't think I could do it this year. See what happens with my weight in next couple days, if it's still going up then decisions been made for me.

Weight was 113.1kg this morning so 90's is no go. Decided to go for northern opens an try get to UK's. As said probably won't be making it this year but give it a go. So far just know 3 events, Viking press, 15 inch axle deadlift and arm over arm, all heavy. Will be adding sdrol to cycle soon and will most likely be starting to train at primal strength and conditioning Jan 2nd. Is only down the road from my works and apparently they have log, farmers, tyres, sand bags and getting a yoke. Also have a complete rack to 60k of inch style dumbbells, lifting platforms and bunch of different bars like ssb etc had no idea it existed.

I said it as a joke. You change your mind every week, 2 months ago you were a heavyweight boxer, now your doing opens strongman.

I wasn't a boxer, I tried boxing for a short while on the advice of a boxer, I found it boring and went back to strongman. 14 of 15 comps I've done have been at opens. For me the problem has always been that I don't have enough muscle, even for 105's nevermind opens, hopefully that won't be a problem now. I like the style of the UK's, it's a lot of proper strongman events and have always wanted to get there but it's really tough when your naturally a lot smaller guy and can't press the bar to start. The standard is so much better now than when I started and everybody's huge.

Hah you'll find the majority of my training for it will be very very heavy (at least for me), but I won't be doing low reps on everything and some light bodybuilder type stuff also. I find that stuff helps prevent injuries and can bring up lagging areas but yeah mainly heavy.
