Eurosport may NOT be showing a great deal but Chinese Hui LIAO Clean and Jerked a World Record 198kg at 69kg Bodyweight last night ..

Eurosport are an amazing channel that show a massive range of Sports from continuous Strongman Champions League repeats time after time all the way through to LIVE snooker that is also being shown LIVE on BBC ?

Olympic Lifting gets Screwed, Strongman gets Screwed !!! Powerlifting is just unwatchable .

To be fair to Eurosport I think Weightlifting gets a reasonable amount of coverage for the Euros and Worlds considering it is a minority sport. Usually get to see most classes, unless timing is unlucky and it clashes with a big snooker or tennis tournament. I've got the Sky+ set to record the men's 69,77,85,94, and 105+ classes so only the 62, and 105s missing.

Watched the women's 48k class the other day. Turkish girl won with a 93 snatch, narrowly missing a 99k world record and finished with a 121 world record clean and jerk.

There was also a 16 year old chinese girl in the 48k class, i think she did something like 90 / 113, not bad for a little girl!!

Can you copy Sky+ in any way to share with the good guys ?

You can copy it if you have a capture card in your PC but its a chew on. You can send it to a dvd recorder or video though, sure theres a copy button in your sky plus planner, I'll go check mine now...

just checked, if you have a vcr (remember them?!) and it's connected to the output scart on your sky box, find the program you want in your planner, press the along/right arrow button thingy and you'll see that you need to presss the green button to copy.

You then set your video away recording the sky channel then press play on the sky remote and bingo! Your video is now recording whats being played on sky.

Pretty sure you can do this if you have a dvd recorder instead of a video too.

Does anyone know why we only have one lifter at the Worlds this year? I know it is close to the Commonwealths but Tash Perdue is doing both.

Wouldn't it be only the penultimate opportunity to qualify for the Olympics?

I heard dabaya bombed out on both lifts at 143 & 177.

Eurosport HD channel is showing them live everyday at either 17.45 or 18.45,depending on what other sports are on,but they have been missing the snatch on some days.If it's owt like last year they wil shag up the heavyweights as usual by showing some to**ers ridng round a track in their cars,boring us to death.Just watched the 69kg mens,that was top stuff,dont think i have seen anyone jump as high with a 150+ bar than Micelescu of Romania!!And Liao Hui world record clean and jerk of 198kgs,amazing!!!

Finally got round to watching this incredible clean strength for a 69kg lifter - looks like there's a lot more there and 2 lifters narrowly missing 166kg snatch at 69kg!

I hope Eurosport manages to continue to show some of this. There are some incredible entry totals if you look down them - eg a 325kg and still in the C group at 77kg!!!
