Member 175, 74 posts SQ 200, BP 157.5, DL 240597.5 kgs @ 110kgs UnEq | Been a member on here for a few years now and had the pleasure of meeting a few of you at the NW BWLA equpped back in Dec '07 (I think it was then, held at Rhino's and Fat Pete squatted a monster new commonwealth record). At this point I had every intention of competing myself but a few personal issues changed plans. Anyhow, I've been buggering about with my training ever since-changing focus/goals, conditioning, fitness, cycling, losing weight etc etc. Now Ive got my focus back and the aim is to regain lost strength-the lifts in my profile were set sometime ago and I'm nowhere near them (yet). This has to change. Routine will be very basic and based on one of Tony's old routines (I think). I'll be working from 5x5's to 3x3, 1X3 and 1rm over a period of weeks. I train alone at a mates farm (hence the title). I train raw except for a belt and neoprene knee sleeves (Im 43 now and like to keep the old joints warm!) Tuesday 21 July Back Squat: Working sets 5x5x150kg (Belted) V.tough, not the weight so much, although it was a challenge I was never in danger of failing a rep but the sheer volume had me nearly puking. Power Clean: working sets 6x3x90kg. Enjoying these. Still relatively new to them and probably ropey technique-I'll try and get a video up. Bench: Working upto 5x5x117.5kg. These were ok but by the last couple of sets I was f**ked-must take some energy drink/sweets next time. Friday 24 July Deadlift-conventional: Work upto 5x5x170kg. No belt Im nothing if not inconsistent on these. By the last set I was shatered but my form was better if anything. Need to keep the hips down and really set my self and the bar flies up. Strict Press: Working upto 5x5x65kg. Good but again its something Im very inconsistent on and need to work at. Chins, close grip, underhand: 5x5xBW (approx 109kg) These were ok-started v.easy, by the last set I was gassed. Plan is to add a rep everytime I can rather than add weight.

Some decent lifts there to say your trying to get your strength back up. Nothing wrong with keeping the joints warm either - im 25 and wear neoprene knee sleeves on every session.

Member 175, 74 posts SQ 200, BP 157.5, DL 240597.5 kgs @ 110kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 28.07.2009 @ 19:15 PM by Rob 28 July Back Squat The plan was for 3x3x165 but was feeling a little jaded and tired by the time I got started. Warm-ups with the bar and then: 60x5,5 80x5 100x3 120x2 +belt 130x1 140x1 150x1 160x1-bit slow so 165 plan was amended accordingly 160x3x3 back-off 130x8, feel the burn The first of 160x3. Looks faster than it felt. Note to self, 'dont be a pussy'! Blowing a bit after the back off set; a few jelly babies and good to go. Power Clean Worked upto 6x3x92.5 A bit shakey on the last couple of sets-its amazing how so few reps can take it out of you on these bad boys. More jelly babies (now my favourite supplement) Bench Worked upto 3x3x127.5 was planning on a back-off set but the old shoulder was grumbling so decided that I'd make a tactical withdrawl in order to fight another day. p.s. Im a bit of a technospac and cant embed videos

Member 175, 74 posts SQ 200, BP 157.5, DL 240597.5 kgs @ 110kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 31.07.2009 @ 20:25 PM by BlackKnight Friday 31 July Deadlifts Having experimented with wearing the converse for a couple of sessions im back in the Ironworks today and I added the belt for the working sets. Usual warm-up with the bar for loads of reps then: 60x5x5, bit creaky today. I took delivery of a large consignment of gravel to line the paths around my new, raised veg beds yesterday and I'm feeling it a bit now. 100x5 130x2 150x1 170x1 180x1 200x3x3. All of these are re-set between each rep-I'm a little paranoid about losing form and getting injured if I stay down with the bar between reps. Second set: Strict Press Warmed up to: 70x5x5. Progess is being made here-modest, but progress none the less. Close grip chins Bodyweightx5x6. Better tonight, aim or a couple more reps again next week. Edit: I still cant embed videos-help! what am I doing wrong admin? Hurrah, done it at last!

Member 175, 74 posts SQ 200, BP 157.5, DL 240597.5 kgs @ 110kgs UnEq | Monday 3/8 In a moment of mental weakness I decided to train a day 'early'-usually tuesday and friday for weights. This was a mistake........ Back Squat Bar x lots. Not good, feels slow.. 60x5,5,5. Hmmmm, perhaps this was a mistake 100x3 120x1 130x1 140x1 150x1 Dog s**t, it feels like someones sat on the bar-crap lift 160x1 Im determined to plough on with the plan 170x2f. Wot a bollox. First one wasnt bad, second was iffy and I lost position of the bar slightly which resulted in the third rep turning into a train wreck. Thank f**k for the safety bars! Should have listened to my body today and waited till tomorrow. Postponed the rest of the session till tomorrow. Think I'll benefit from a break in Anglesey next week.
