Back is still a bit sore so no SLDL's today. On the top sets the single was a little slow but form still came up nice and smoothly. The set of 5 rattled up nicely which suggests a big single is there when my back is fully recovered. The gum was also a lot cooler today which was a bonus. | ||

Did a fair bit of rolling out my right calf last night so it was actually ok today. Close grip is starting to feel pretty strong now. All of the sets were good. Block pulls were ok. Back was feeling about 95% so the deadlifts felt fine. Helping a friend out in his first powerlifting comp in Birmingham this weekend which I'm really looking forward to. | ||

Close grip was a bit weird today. 145 actually moved pretty well considering how heavy it is. Don't know how I failed an eight rep on the first set but got it on the second. Triceps had gone by the third set though. Deadlifts were ok, really slow off the blocks and then lock out is ok. | ||

SLDL's were really hard today. My hamstrings and glutes were sore from yesterday so lifting just below my pb's was always going to be a struggle. Top single was very slow but form was good. First five was ok but very hard. Second five was good until the fourth rep where I nearly fell over backwards for some reason and then over corrected on the next rep so the bar was way out in front making the lockout extremely difficult. | ||

Would've gotten the seventh with a looser belt) Paused bench press Bar x 12 60 x 3 90 x 2 110 125 137.5 (long pause) 132.5 x 3 (these were pretty much touch and go from here til the end of the session) 132.5 x 3 132.5 x 3 Squats were really difficult today. 220 was the absolute limit. Messed up the second working set, would've gotten the reps otherwise. Bench was a bit poor today. Single was really tough and then didn't have much energy left for the triples after. Feels like neural fatigue. | ||

Deadlifts were really hard today. On both sets I kept feeling as though I was about to throw up for some reason. 245 was the most I could manage today. On the 210 set I maybe could've gotten 1 more rep if I had to. | ||

On bench I was only meant to hit 147.5 but it felt really good for once so I thought I'd take a shot at a pb and it came off! Sets on 117.5 were nice today, could well have gotten 8's today. Deadlifts were really quite hard but got there in the end. | ||

I made sure to commit on the way down which in turn made coming back up easier. Bench was a bit mixed. Annoyed I missed the double as it was a technical issue rather than a strength issue. Sets of 6 were pretty good though. Heavy set of 5 on pulls were really hard. This matched what I did from 15". | ||

Set of seven started getting difficult after the fifth rep, but still a rep pb. On bench the top single was half decent. Set of three was really hard but an equal pb. Didn't want to risk my shoulder by doing any more sets. | ||

Bench was fine on my shoulder but tomorrow will be the real test for it. The rep on 255 was really hard, but then again it is an equal pb right in the middle of a training cycle. Set of 5 on 220 was a 10kg pb, but slightly easier than the top single. | ||

A bit disappointed with close grips today as I should be hitting that double on 145. Sets on 125 were pretty decent though. The 240 x 5 off blocks was really bloody hard, especially after yesterday's session, but made it for a pb. | ||

A true max would've probably been 230 which is very good seeing as it was done at the end of the day and without any stimulants. Bench was pleasing tonight. I want to hit 147.5 at my next comp so it was good to hit it today. Looking at the video it looks like I flair my elbows too early once the bar is off my chest so will work on smoothing that out. | ||
