Very very hard to get going today. The dentist has f**ked up my tooth so I've had no sleep and enough painkillers to get a lecture from the NHS nurse about my liver earlier.

Box jumps up to a max single

Deadlifts
60kg x 5,5
100kg x 3
140kg x 3
170kg x 3
Belt and straps
190kg x 1
210kg x 1
230kg x 3 - last rep hitched. Still s**t. I'm using straps in case the mixed grip is making me pull on a slight angle and affecting my glute.

Front squats
60kg x 8
80kg x 8
100kg x 8 - rep pb
120kg x 4 - rep pb
120kg x 6 - rep pb
120kg x 4

Pullups x 6 x 10

Medium GMs
Bar x 8,8,8
40kg x 8,8,8
50kg x 8
60kg x 8
70kg x 8,8,8

Was just filling time whilst talking

Bb curls 3 x 12

Tooth ache is the biggest wa**er ever. You did was to even think about training.

Training was the best part of the day, stopped me sitting and thinking about. Turns out that the nerve is dying so the tooth needs to come out. Took codeine most of the day and stopped 4 hours before training to try and wake up a bit which semi-worked but hard going.

Strict:
67.5kg x 3 x 5

Bench
90kg x 8,6,5

Incline
60kg x 10,9,8

That was it...

Every time I moan I remember there are people on here that have pulled through some proper injuries and realise I just like to whine a bit Happy

Got my tooth removed today, 3 attempts over 2 hours with 7 injections. Not the most pleasant of experiences. Got told to not exert myself and to not go to gym by the dentist and ended up working from home because I was talking like an idiot. So I got my work done, got over the nausea caused by days of painkillers and came to the gym Happy

Turned out exertion pops open the clot and I had to spit out blood between sets but at least I got to squat Happy

Beltless squats
60kg x 6,6,6
80kg x 6
100kg x 6
120kg x 6
140kg x 6,6,6,6,6

Heaviest beltless sets and I noticed it towards the end but these weren't great to start with anyway.

CGBP
60kg x 8
85kg x 8,8,8,6

Pendlay rows
Bar x 10,10
60kg x 8
80kg x 8
95kg x 8,8,8,8,8

Db reverse flies 16kg x 5 x 12

Db curls 16kg x 3 x 12
Dave85
PP
55kg x 5
65kg x 3
75kg x 3
85kg x 2

Speed was fine off my shoulders but nothing left from my triceps after Wednesday.

Squat
60kg x 5,5,5
90kg x 5
115kg x 5
Belt
135kg x 5
150kg x 1
165kg x 5 - rep pb
165kg x 5
165kg x 5
165kg x 4 - no spotter and didn't risk the last rep
Wraps
165kg x 1
175kg x 1
185kg x 1
190kg x 1 - pb - fresh I am going to get a lot out of these wraps but it's not really me lifting the weight.... but it's still fun Happy I won't do as many reps with the wraps as today once I've learned how to use them.

My biggest issue with the squats was tiredness in my upper back causing me to collapse and good morning the weight up. I was struggling with just standing with the bar after the 4th rep on each set. Post Oswestry's strongest man I'll cut back on the upper back stuff and try for some single reps, one day with knee sleeves, one day with wraps.

I've been looking back on my training and at the end of March I started squatting 3 times per week:

Light 115 x 4 x 6
Medium 130 x 3 x 5
Heavy 130 x 3 x 3

Now:

Light 140 x 5 x 6
Medium 165 x 4 x 5
Heavy 170/175+

It's worked but my form is starting to break down after a couple of reps. I'm fine on the light days but might try to reduce the reps and weight and increase the number of sets.

Strict
60kg x 9,8,6

One arm rows
44kg x 6 x 10

Took me so long I had to eat my tea during the strict press.

Overall the last few months have been about easy to recover from volume whilst training for the 12 and 13 mile runs and then adding a bit of muscle back after them.

After Oswestry it's time to work on the speed and strength stuff and build up to OD4 and dominate Smalls
MrSmall
When is Oswestry?

In your dreams domination, joker Grin
Dave85
14th mate. Looking forward to it. Got one more week of training, couple of sessions at the Warehouse Gym in Leicester next week and one at OSG next Sat and Sun. Need to put an 80kg log up at least once before the comp!

If not domination then at least not bottom!

Are wraps classed as equipped or unequipped?
