little_a said:Hey Phil, did you know that the name Howarth originates from the old English hoh ‘mound’ + worđ ‘enclosure’. In 21st century English that translates to Knickers.

There are worse things.Grin

My mates called that... Although if truth be known his family name has been changed by his grandparents so he seems to think which is a bummer I guess

Still I guess everybody's family name starts somewhere... Halter has been a family name for a very long time

Commute, Cycle Class and other Stuff

AM

I cycled to the gym and then did a spin class. With my commuting on the bike I am deliberately taking my effort down on the spin classes as I need to be able to get around still. I did an hours BodyPump class and 30 minutes on the watt bike to warm myself up for the outdoor cycling.

Commute: 6.8km total ascent 66 metres total descent 88 metres
BodyPump class: Usual poundages
Watt Bike: @175W for 30 mins

Commute, Cycle Class, Weightlifting, BodyPump and Watt Bike

AM

I cycled everywhere again today with my big bag full of everything I needed for the day. I did a great cycle class also in the morning before going some heavy back squats, some stretches and later managed to fit in a BodyPump class and 30 minutes on the Watt bike. I was in a real bad plac for the Watt Bike and distinctly remember going 175W average and a heart rate of 141bpm...WTF!

Actually it was one of the toughest session I've done on it just because I was so exhausted.

Looks lik I have done research to do for go pros then having had a very quick scan of that site... I absolutely need one when you consider all factors of my cycling. I will be on the road too much not to need one.

I am guessing you haven't got one but I'm also guessing if domebody gave you one for free you would use it to protect you...?

Daily commute... total for reference is 40.7km and 315 metres climbed

Weightlifting

Snatch Balance

40(3x3)
60x3
70x3
80x3

I'm sure it helped that before these I did ten minutes on the cross trainer aswell as messing with a poor bar while I waited for a weightlifting bar to become available... I was fully fully warmed up

Fantastic to have almost no wrist pain whatsoever although my triceps hurt a lot from something I must have done during one of Wednesday's sessions...? Mobility increasing also

Snatch

40

Boom so

60
70
80
90
95

That was brilliant

Front Squat

70
100
120
140

I then cool down with three sets of ten back squats with and empty bar and then some stretches

I ran the same as yesterday again which was 5km in 45 minutes at an average hr of 130 and did 175W on the Watt bike for 15 minutes

I don't have one mate, but I can see them as being good applications used correctly. Rather than their intended use of recording trips and adventures I can see them being used for vehicular use a lot more. It wouldn't surprise me if they were used to reduce insurance premiums in the near future and eventually made compulsory. Would cut down on a lot of claims and court cases IMO which is good for all of us.

I'm getting gone for piece if mind that if I have an accident I have evidence

Personally I hate prventable errors in judgement and would hate to regret not having one in the unlikely event

You'll be safe enough as long as you get hit head on. No good if you get side swiped or rammed up the arse, or even hit from behind.
