Apart from a class yesterday which I struggled with this weekend was a rest weekend.

Monday 18th May 2015

Cycle workout

I need to check my account for this but I hit an all time best heart rate this morning during a extended sprint

Edit: max 100% 185bpm (!!!) average 149bpm 80%

One other class which nailed a further 700 calories... Then I went to crossfit and their were a few people doing traditional training and nobody doing a wod so I took a note of what I was to do with a view of picking it up at a later date... As I wanted to do some lifting this lunchtime.

I've already been active today and done a great cycle workout etc so doing some weightlifting was the overall best session for me to do at that time. Here it is

Clean pull

50x2
80x2
110x2
140x2
170x2 PB beast
140(5x2) beast

Hang Snatch

20x1
30x1
40x1
50x1
60x1
70x1
80x1
90x1

And a few stretches on my legs to finish... Feeling good even though I've lost a bit of weight.

Even though I've lost a bit again (only 94.5kg) I look awesome.

This Sunday I'm cycling from Manchester to Liverpool if anybody is interested in joining me and my friends. I don't think anybody will be going off here following previous attempts but that's okay

There is a 55 mile road and a 40 mile off road route to choose from... Think I've got 6 friends doing it with me for good causes and will get more by the end of the week

Cycle workout

Not bad

Chest workout

120 bench PB beast

Today I feel great thanks to having a decent weightlifting session... I genuinely feel like I have lifted well and with all the other things I need to do it's really important that I keep the weightlifting really high in my priorities due to the many benefits

Tuesday

In between meetings I did

10 min run at 6 mph then a challenge

21 (easy version) burpees
21 20kg plate ftoh
21 crunches
21 air squats

Then 15s then 9s... Took 4.58

Then 5 mins at 6mph

Later

Pool

32 lengths in 30 minutes

Then a couple of classes... A back workout which lasted longer than I thought due to training a few people... Then sauna and steam and done

On Monday afternoon through to the evening I felt very well indeed

Purely due to having a great lifting session I felt brilliant

So I need to do more Olympic weightlifting if it is going to make me feel so good

I might have posted that before but if I haven't it is an important post to make that I mustn't forget

Tuesday evening

Two classes

A back workout and sauna steam stretch

Wednesday

1 hour class

Crossfit

Stretches

Clean pull to knee hold for 2 seconds, then same at mid thigh then stand followed by holding at mid thigh for two seconds and into a hang full clean.

We did a rep of the above every 90 seconds and I got up to 120kg for a personal best.

Then the weightlifting wod

60kg bar

Power clean
Front Squat
Power Jerk

Ascending ladder, 10 mins

I got up to 8 full rounds and 1 power clean

This was a great workout that all barbell lifters should try

Then I went to aldi to buy a 6 lite bike bag for Sunday... They only had a 10 liter one so I got that. Just need to buy a hydration thing from decathlon on Saturday now.

Beast

Then a couple of spins... Again Heart rate is really good now that I am stronger. I feel tip top.

I will look up the averages and maxes for these to 45 minute sessions later

Then a shoulder workout then sauna steam stretch foam roll

On the downside my shoulders are a bit too big and strong already... I was pressing more weight than I'd like for somebody who has only started weight training a month ago... So I am a bit not happy with that to be honest...

1 167 144

2 170 150

These weren't with me really really leathering it either... Had to get off the bike a few times on both sessions

Getting my heart rate to 85% or 157bpm in the seat with a decent Amount of resistance on the bike does feel easier and my confidence is increasing too which is great so I'm going to keep on getting stronger as a fully committed fitness enthusiast.

When I go back on the watt bike I am anticipating that it will say that it's all in my head and I am not progressing or anything... I'm not sure why but I can definitely imagine that happening...

The funny thing is that I will be going on it and turning a few medium effort sessions on it when it is most opportune with all my other training...

But when it says like the usual 130bpm at 175 watts average I used to do or whatever it won't deter me as I feel like I am more able to move. I feel fitter and that in itself means I will be even if I'm not now

We will see. I'm probably being a bit negative.

I hate it when that happens.

Pissing can't find out what my heart rate was for a steady stretch on the bike

I remember 128 bpm for average 175W unless I'm wrong

I could do with having my watt bike performances all in one place for reference purposes

Lol I know how it reads... But it's true. Of sorts

They are bigger than I'd like that's a definate. I'm almost certain they are stronger than I'd like relative to other things... I want to get better and pull ups and learn muscle ups as well as getting awesome a different press ups

Rather than worry too much about what is not going ideal I need to focus on what I should spend more time on

I can't think of anything too obvious other than arms

I need to face up to this I feel

I've came to terms with having shoulders that are a bit too big compared to the rest of my body... Same as my thighs to a lesser degree.

As a guy who lifts weights and has lifted overhead often it's part of me and the path Ive lead... I'm still going to train with equal balance I'm not doing more arms or loads of compensatory chest and bicep work I've decided. It didn't sit well. I am who I am so I'm going to roll with it...

I need to just concentrate on keeping going and getting lean, fit and strong. I would love to be one of the fittest, strongest and leanest guys at my gym... That would represent a success and a huge progression

I need to organize lots of things

I've started using my fitness pal today to find out if I am eating consistently

Additionally I am eating a little bit more and noting it as from experience I know how making note of intake can inhibit consumption.

Thursday

A class in the sunshine... Then

Weightlifting

Clean

40x2
60x2
80x2
90x1
100x1
110x1
120x1

Back Squat

90x1
120x1
140(5x1)

I can feel myself getting stronger...

Then later a cycle session kicking out 175 max and 147. (My absolute max is 185)

Later

Arms and a stretch

A bit busier than I'd like recently but I think I'm doing okay.
