11 days and no log entry Phil? What gives man?
Do you self medicate?
Hope you're keeping well up there in Scotland x

I have only really been reading Savages log (among the others I like to view) and watching 24 on my iPhone to be honest Little_A... But I have write my sessions down and will be updating my journal so it is serving it's purpose even still, selfishly.

I actually like reading his log with my best Jack Bauer out of breath voice... It's remarkably appropriate

Just been watching some more of the adlington barbell club videos too they are pretty cool

Why are you watching stuff on your phone and not a tablet/ PC? Are you at work right now? Are you a stripper Phil?

LOAL @ Savvies log in a JB voice. Never thought of it before but as soon as I read it I knew you were right. I think Paul may well torture his knowledge out of experts as Jack would. I also think that Chloe O Brian is a proper horn dog. Glad your training is going well. You need to keep it going man in case you get the call. The call for the memory of what was and the dream of what could be x

I am going to buy myself a new laptop and iPad over the next few months ironically but the iPhone is so convenient to use it so often is...

I'm not a stripper I'd prefer to work day shifts if I was anyway but I have done a bit of decorating in the best like

Since starting the log I have been putting together more than three resistance training sessions a week in which is great and am able to make incywincy exercise goals which help along my overall performance.

Regarding Chloe yes she is very cute

News flash: yesterday for a new PB my best average wattage for 20 mins is now 247

The French word for weightlifting is haltérophilie. Leave it with you. Wink

Me neither. Two things I learned from international weightlifting. The Soviet national anthem and the French word for weightlifting. I have a very small attention span.

Sunday 31st August 2014

AM

Weightlifting

A decent warm up...While coaching and demonstrating I did the following

Snatch pull (straps)

40 five singles
70 single
90 five singles
110, 120, 130, 140, 150,160 singles
130 five singles
110 for five
90 for five fives

stretches

PM

I did a forty minute circuit doing mostly bodyweight exercises... had a quick bite of food the after some stretches

Back Squat

20 five singles
70 110 140 singles
160 five singles
160 for five

Then i did a thirty minute spin class clocking up 8.7 miles and keeping my heart rate above 130 most of the time maxing out at 166... I put my monitor on ten minutes in as I felt like I was slacking but my output was good

I will transfer the last couple of weeks training onto here in due course

Supplementary:

Earlier the cycle machine said 14.7km so I think it's that mileage previous posted... Which is a bit fast for me in hindsight (somebody was sat on my usual bike)

Body weight is down to 98.5kg now and i can now front squat which i definitely couldn't do last month

Making lots of small almost unnoticeable improvements in my training

Bodyweight down to 97.5kg at the moment... This will probably come down more but to be honest I'm expecting to come back from my holiday at around about 102kg at worst...

I would definately like to lose more weight my frame is still to large for what I want

Monday 8th September 2014

I need to write a good template for this journal on here...

AM

Spin Class 40 mins 8.7 miles

BodyPump Class 1 hour

then straight after

Watt Bike... Tagged along with a friend of mine who is very poorly and gave him some support

Av 226 W
497.7 Kcals
HR Av 139 BPM

This put me off the Watt Bike for the rest of the day... It wasn't the best idea to try so hard when tired and weak but there is no thing as a bad session. Left knee inferior patella tendonitus was very present here.

I later went to look at a gym later having a bite to eat... It has a weightlifting hall which is as close to the one in Sofia that I am ever likely to see.

I jioned

PM

Weightlifting

A very comprehensive masters warm up

Power Snatch

40kg (5x3)

Abandoned due to a bruised pubis caused by all of last weeks training... But to do these with no wrist pain all purely down to a stronger supports is too good for words

So...
Snatch Pulls (straps)

80 x3
100x3
120 x1
130x1
140 (5x1)
120(5x1)

Helped some powerlifter do some squats... he squatted all the way down... I was impressed. New PB for him. He commented on why he thought powerlifting wasn't in the Olympics. I like this guy... He looks like he trains hard despite his modest poundages... And that is always going to be a big positive for me

As I was doing the 120's a gentleman asked whether or not my pulls were for technique. (whatever that phrase means I o this day have no idea) I communicated a well rounded response answering his question I think

Nothing at all was amiss as I really trying to reach high on my last set of pulls... Unloaded my bar and as I raised my head I noticed the other gym user still deadlifting 70kg...?

There appeared to be no benefit here at all but I am open to the idea that there was a reason for this

Strange old word

Power Clean and Power Jerk

70kg, 90kg, 110kg, 120kg 130kg

Clean Pull to knee (straps, 5 second hold)

120 5 x 3

Done as fast as possible to finish... probably 30 seconds rest

Right knee hurt alot on the clean pulls for some reason

Then

Spin Class 45 mins 537Kcals

I need to use my heart rate monitor on these to see what they next time

Then

Spin Class 30 mins 383Kcal

Done for the day

I have a rubbish Polar one that I use on alot of things...

My use of it is though... It has to be said... Currentely completely observational

I have however took some readings to compare my training and see what is happening as I progress
