Bike 10 mins.

Warm up with bar 5 mins various clean and press, stiff leg d/lifts etc.

Squat
Bar 2 x 10 reps
60kg x 5
80 x 5
100x5
120x5 added belt
130x5
145 x3
160x1
170 x 1 NEW PB

Then 3x12 reps @ 100kg without belt, all well below parallell

Incline abs 2 x15 with 25kg on chest

Pulldown abs standing, 2x20 @ 40 kg, paused at crunch position.

Just did the required one rep @ 160 instead of hitting max reps, then did another rep @ 170kg, concentrating on hitting depth on all sets which I think I did. Challenging but not a grinder, more in the tank!

Cheers Finch, might be a bit optimistic at present but we'll see!
I'm going to do the GBPF (just joined and sending entry off this weekend) South Yorks Unequipped on June 6th which will be my second Comp, to improve my official total, take a couple of months after to trim some excess lard then get back on the programme for a good build up for next year. Aim is to qualify for the Unequipped British Champs eventually, at 110kg as you've done and build up to some respectable poundages in time.

Cheers Phil

I like what you say about training the singles, thinking about taking a 531 approach ie starting fairly light at say 85% for 10x1 and adding 5kg to squats and deads and 2.5kg per month for bench and military and when I start missing lifts drop the weights back again to 85% of new max weight. Singles would definitely help me develop technique IMO and get me used to heavier weights, the boredom might kill me though so I'd probably alternate 10x1 workouts with sets of 3's and do some sets at 10 - 12 reps after the main sets as per 'boring but big'. Food for thought for later in the year, what do you think?
