![]() my face was on fire Member 494, 2394 posts SQ 250, BP 150, DL 320720.0 kgs @ 150kgs UnEq | I am going to keep a journal again mainly because I miss keeping one. also I am very poor at keeping a written verision as I always have too much to do at home and can update sugden while I should be working at work (you have all done that) I have uksc northern qualifer in 7 days time and if I dont come top 4 I have threaten myself with a diet. whatever happens I will keep the log going. while I have not kept a log I have managed to find out what was wrong with me and why I couldn't eat carbs. I am lactose intolrant. (normally quite easy to diagnose but my doctor insisted I wasnt) also I have started training quite differently I no longer f**k about trying to do a variant of westside. I stopped progressing and it is mainly based imo on equipped lifting which is less and less in strongman. I read quite abit about how the bulgrian weightlifters train and some of what john bronz has wrote on the subject of daily maxes and have sort of adapted to my needs. lets see what happens. (so far I really like it) | ||

![]() my face was on fire Member 494, 2394 posts SQ 250, BP 150, DL 320720.0 kgs @ 150kgs UnEq | training from 25th stay In the hilton in chester and had a s**t nights sleep and woke with a banging headache made my way to xfit front squat beltless 3@70 3@100 1@110 1@120 1@130 1@140 1@150 max for today 1@160 weight went from a to b but form was terrible and rep was slow 2@120 3.sets wanted to do axle deadlifts at 15inch ended up somewhere aroun 13inches (no blocks) 3@70 3@100 1@130 all doh up to here then I relised I forgot my straps and had to swop bars 1@160 1@190 x3sets 1@200 x3sets would have gone heavier but only plates I could find were bumper plates that were very thick so no more room on the bar arm over arm prowler plus 120 x10m prowler plus 180 x10m prowler plus 180 and small tyre x10m prowler plus 210 and small tyrex 2m prowler plus 180 and small tyrex8 m power snatch 70x1 6 sets some sort of hack squat machine half stackx20 3/4 stack x8 mega scared cable was gonna snap and me fly across the gym so left it there pulldowns tried good mornings on safty squat bar but felt horrible and back was tired | ||

![]() my face was on fire Member 494, 2394 posts SQ 250, BP 150, DL 320720.0 kgs @ 150kgs UnEq | trained this morning after my last nightshift front squat (paused and beltless) 3@20 3@70 3@120 1@130 1@142.5 pb lovely rep 1@145 went a to b but was horrid viking press plate weight 5@120 3@130 2@150 1@180 4@180 comp is sooner than I thought so my head wasnt really in it. plus I am not using any prework stuff anymore 10@150 tabatta one arm kettlebell swings with 24kg 96 reps total tried tabatta on empty log managed to get to 4th round and bicep didnt feel right so stopped 24reps off the chain press plus a red aside 3@20 3@50 3@60 2@70 3@60 3@60 cgbp 5@90 5@110 3@132.5 more there | ||

![]() my face was on fire Member 494, 2394 posts SQ 250, BP 150, DL 320720.0 kgs @ 150kgs UnEq | today uksc north qualifer 1st event arm over arm 44seconds I think and was damn hard work the rope felt rather thin for someone with big hands and hurt with every pull out of the top 10 I think so nil points 2nd event viking press 6 reps on the 5th rep in rack postion my right hamstring cramped up like a motherf**ker. alot got reps unsure on placing 3rd event 15 inch axle deadlift I was most worried about this event pulled the mandatory 300 then 320 could see I was falling behind as most went 330 or 340 for 2nd pull went 350 for 3rd got it. most competitors were going 360 went balls out and got me 365 for a 15 kg pb for that height regardless of wether its a bar or axle. very happy with this 5th place I think 4 th event medley the deadlift had hurt my hip (had this niggle for years the deadlift hurts it but u dont know its hurt till ur next set or ne t event) 5 tyre flips everytime I got 3/4's up I got shooting pains I both hips so I had to budge the tyre over the last 1/4 the barrel carry was ok never finished the drag but was close to it 5th samsons barrow did about 3/4 of the course in one go dropped it tried another pick up and shock horror hip f**ks me over again 5th I think 6th stones did 130 150 160 each time feeling like someone was using a powerdrill on my hip bent over for the 180 with every intension of having a crack at it then felt a pain in my left bicep and decided to stop there. 7th overall time to get on a diet and cough cough go clean | ||

![]() my face was on fire Member 494, 2394 posts SQ 250, BP 150, DL 320720.0 kgs @ 150kgs UnEq | cheers ross been feeling absolutely drained since comp. hip is about 90% now just needs stretching and me not be lazy and just getting it moving about as mentioned in first post if I didnt qualify id start a diet. not gone overboard on it yet just cut out any sweet treats so far which which will go a long way. as I am really crap at front squat and log I will do atleast 1 of these per session if not both. ( will throw the odd back squat and strict log in now and again) today paused front squat beltless 3@70 3@100 1@110 1@120 1@130 max for today just breaking back in gently log clean and push press 3@62 x2 1@72 1@77 1@82 1@92 1@102 1@112 1@122 daily max. so weird not getting psyched up before each lift just under 90% of actually max so not bad 2@97 x3 sets strict axle press 8@74 8@79 8@89 bench 5@110 x2 | ||

I actually enjoy running but at my current fitness/bodyweight I am just gonna f**k myself up. so 6 months of concentrating on a bit of weightloss and fitness. while holding onto as much strength as I can is the plan. then comeback next year for northern qualifer in my best shape ever | ||
