Failed to log sessions earlier in the week. First one included a few push presses then giving up. The other went:

Strict press
70kg*3,3,3,3

Squat
70kg*3
110kg
130kg
140kg*2,2 - ouch. 5 rep warmup in 5 degree temperature doesn't work it seems! Got annoyed and gave up.

Today
Run a mile (10 minutes 30) and a bit more for cool down.

Press 40kg*10,10,10
Curl 40kg*5,5,8
Pressups - 3 sets

Feeling nauseous now.

Still feeling some fatigue in my hips so couldn't face multiple sets. Managed to find a nice line though so everything felt pretty good until the 3rd rep on 150 where my right leg did that turning-in thing which I think is to do with my left hip.


Plenty of warmups and stretching before. In summer I just had a cup of coffee and changed into my shorts. Now it's down at 6 degrees things do not feel quite so good, even wrapped up.

In summary, it feels like a decent week. I've had 5 sessions lifting (the run keeps going on the back burner!) and have felt progressively better.
C&P today felt good. Even on a damp, bent axle the cleans felt strong and the press quick. I feel like I'm seriously lacking a bit of endurance at the moment - a couple of reps and it all goes, even with light weights - but that may well be more to do with fatigue and when I'm training than anything. And it doesn't especially matter.

The rest was pretty much immaterial, but I feel compelled to squat as it seems to be working and I enjoy it.

The run kept on being put off until today.

Warmup - a few minutes run/walk
run - just over 1 mile around the block
Cool down - walk down the street trying not to look like predatory. I need to get some more obvious running gear so that people know what I'm actually doing. Maybe something tight and luminous...

I learnt from last week to remember to warm up a bit more progressively and not to bother with any silly lifting of weights afterwards. I feel better as a result.

3rd December 2014: a new experience!

Today was new, in that I've never trainer in conditions quite so cold!

I'd left the axle loaded up outside and went out at 9 ish to find it coated in ice! A pair of mismatched gardening gloves were donned and training commenced. However, I will admit I didn't exactly push. My focus was mostly on getting it done quickly.

Running.

A couple of minutes walking/running to get heart rate, just over a mile steady running, then a few more minutes walking/running to cool down.

I really quite enjoyed that.
