August bank holiday is the UK strongman north finals, as well as UKs finals in belfast and otherwise busy and packed weekend for obvious reasons.
Many of the comps which are run alongside of village festivals etc land on that weekend, so i am thinking that if yours is just a comp, rather than part of something fixed and bigger, then put it on a quieter weekend IMO.

good points as usual mate. comp calendar is looking pretty full this season. maybe later in the year sept/oct would be better. any chance of the bull making an appearance?

wrestling no.
thought about using the yoke for a squat but im a bit wary of all the adjustments you have to make for height. yoke events tend to drag on a bit.

The comps I enjoy watching on the TV are always the ones that have the basic events covered, none of this wrestling, sweety eater bo***cks.
