Squat:
warmup sets then
3x5x115 very hard, accidentally paused 1 rep. had some weird knee pain which felt like it was the patellar tendon at the kneecap insertion-the opposite end to my old knee pain. Was only there for one set so was probably my knee tracking or other knee position issue.


Overhead press:
warmups then
70x2 didnt even get close to 3x5.. so did 60x5 then quit there. deload time to 60kg. I also have some slight elbow discomfort that feels like im compressing the elbow.


sldl 3x5x60 first time doing these. slightly pulled a hamstring Roll-Eyes

semi sumo dl work with 60kg. focused on back positioning, seems like I tend to set up my back angle similar to conventional dl because if I drop my hips lower (to make my back more vertical) I feel weaker. Or perhaps I should just train with hips lower to be stronger?

Overall a session riddled with minor injurys

Squats:
warmups as usual
3x5x120 had my knee sleeves on today as I was getting a lot of knee pain the past few days. Paused the last rep accidentally because my body couldnt be arsed to move the weight.

Overhead Press:
warmup sets
3x5x62.5 last rep was a grinder but no elbow pain today.


Deadlift: Doing all pulls semi-sumo (or sumo, im not quite sure of the difference, but my feet are fairly close)
forgot my chalk. but dug out my old rugby socks to protect my delicate shins.

still practicing technique so i did
60x8
100x6 faster than fast
120x5 twice
took a break because I felt dizzy
140x5
160x5 (i say 5, it might have been 4 but I lost count and 5 is better. And I most definately would have got 5 if I had warmed up in my usual way)

I got some knee pain when doing these and it might be because of not being over toes or something. Anyone get this or have suggestions to stop it?
I tend to lean forward when it gets heavy, but im stronger when im more upright I think. Harder to round my back in any case, and no lower back pain, just pump.

oh and also squatting 120 was where my knee pain started last time and today there was none so this is all good news

I am sitting here counting down the weeks to my birthday for lack of anything better to do, and have come to the conclusion that if I add 5kg to my deadlift 5rm (160) every week then in 4 weeks I will have 180x5 and on the 5th week I will pull 200kg on my 20th birthday. Seems reasonable.

Squat:
1x8xbar
1x5x50 high bar paused
1x5x70
1x5x90
1x1x105 paused
3x5x125 felt heavy on my back but the reps were ok. Think I cut my usual depth on 1 or 2 reps but im well below parallel usually anyway so shouldnt be much of a problem.

Bench Press:
elbows were aching today so im thinking something is inflamed/not right so im laying off all pressing for a week to recover.
Paused reps:
1x8xbar
1x5x60
1x3x80
3x3x90
90 would be a good opener for me, then 100, then 105 or 110 depending how I felt.

I want to compete soon once my squat is better again.

Chinups:
5xbw
10kg x 5,4,3(almost 4)

whats your best rep pb? on the highest weight? also you need to learn the trick of leaning your phone against a shoe to film things

180x5 but since switching to sumo (to eliminate back pain/rounding) its 160x5

also you need to learn the trick of leaning your phone against a shoe to film things


this is a good idea, I will try this on friday with squats

I live in the south east when I'm not at uni, and I'm guessing you will live in London when you're at uni?
