And it's all nice and fair if we stand on the scales an hour before the comp and we all weigh u105kg simples if your a fat barnyard who weighs over 105 get your arse in the opens

Simon, a couple of points

Yeah it was, but Paul started the UKs (2009 I think), with the first couple being day before weigh ins

this then filtered down to the regionals, which have, for the past 2-3 years, been day before

I dont really buy the "true 105 argument". I was ALWAYS 107-09KG even when we had same day weigh ins, and probably competed about that weight also, as weigh ins were normally at least 3hrs before comp

EDIT: Just to be clear, I have no agenda, as wont be doing 105...too massive and muscular!

So surely it should be called under 110kg? And most of the 105s I no all agree on same day weigh in.. may be time to start up a new original 105 league. Think it would be very popular

Also Simon, quick question, was it a problem for you when Paul woods won uks in 2010 at around 110kg?

Im not bothered if its on the day or 24 hours, as long as everyone knows beforehand shouldnt be a problem, everyone is playing by the same rules

The only critism I have had is when all athletes havent weighed in under the weight limit, which has happened numerous times in the past

I would love to see everyone weigh in at every comp. I don't like it when people say they have weighed in and nobody has seen it. I have finished 2nd in loads of top 105 comps against guys who are over 105 and it does bug me to no I could have won if they had been weighed in on the same day.. although I did watch Paul weigh in at the 2009 southern qual and he was 104 and still smashed it. Malabar I agree with you 100 percent

I got to ask who saw paul weigh in at 110kg? I wasn't there so I'm not saying its not true i wasn't there or even competing then I was just wondering how you knew this ?

And simon I agree with your point but all international comps seem to be day before weigh ins and you also can keep weighin in until a certain point on the comp day if you keep missing the weight. Problem with the 105s there is no decent governing body and that is s**t so best thing all athletes can do is just get on with it and all get on and make the most of what it is or move on. Unfortunately these are a lot of the reasons I'm not competing in 105s myself.

Sean - no-one, but......

he looked "heavy"

he was weighed in by his sister (which is a very obvious conflict of interests and wholly unprofessional)

he told a number of the athletes he was "slightly over"

Thats kinda irrelevant now...no doubt he would have won had he benn 103 as was a very good athlete

Like I said, same day weigh in or 24hr never bothered me...i think the same guy will still win TBH

If he admitted to being over then this is wrong. Especially seen as many athletes put themselves through hell to drop the weight.

aye, but who cares, its gone now

like I said, at the time, certainly given the events in UKs, he was a good way in front of everyone else

so would have won it anyway

Still irrelevant... I never knew he admitted to be over...

Anyway hope 2013 is a better year for the 105s

Bar the worlds debacle. 2012 was a GREAT year IMO

The regionals were keenly contested high quality comps

And the same can be said of both BSM & UKs, both of which were excellent comps

Paul weighed in naked at 105 apparently. He got out of his car in a dressing gown looking like death and said after he really struggled to make weight. He had 4 hours to replenish and get himself right again. There is no guarantee he weighed 110 but he will have been around that by the time he started. None of this matters really the point i was making was this...

Simon has alway been a huge fan of the uks, Paul has always been a good mate/training buddy i believe, the uks had a same day weigh in, so would Simon be bothered that when he won he weighed over which he obviously did! I did! A few did! What I'm saying is that I very much doubt that he cared even though Simon had just recently said 'it should be called a u110 competition.' What I'm saying is that even when the rules are in place for a same day weigh in, even his close mate is over at his favorite 105 comp!! There's no way of stopping being over even when he gets what he wants from a comp!!! So there is absolutely no reason to be requesting a new u105 league on here IMO. Especially on a competition thread!
