No that it ever helped, but I had Jaffa cakes, bananas and/or banana and peanut butter sandwiches, rehydration sachets and water & Gatorade (if I could even find it in the shops) - as most of the time I was having to make weight through dehydration...

Big breakfast preferably

At the comp I normally go through 2 packs of Jaffa cakes, a banana or 2 and 2-3 lucozade sports drinks. Sometimes have a sandwich aswell but generally I don't feel like eating sandwiches as stomach is normally abit dodgy from fatigue/adrenaline.

Don't take new stuff you've never taken before.

I take peanuts, pringles, bananas, energy drinks, isotonic drinks (about 8-12x500ml) and some chicken & rice.

Best to bring more than you need - far better than not taking enough.

similar to what others have said, a big breakfast then pretty much concentrate on carbs. couple of sandwiches, pasta pot, my own flapjacks, snickers, bananas, some kind of cake, energy drink and isotonics. i take a tub of powder and mix it up and drink it throughout the day.
i'm usually feeling too full to eat much at night time after i'm done.

What I usually do is starve and dehydrate for a week then on the day of the comp eat piles and piles of absolute s**te food to try and replenish.

What I'm trying to do this time is to maintain some type of consistency/homeostasis.

So, I'm going to eat the exact same foods day in and day out for the next 14 weeks leading into comp. I'll get used to training on the exact same fuel so I'll know that I can adequately fuel my competition goals with that food on the day of the comp.

I'm attempting to remove as many variables as possible. I think this could help with optimal performance.

im just now remembering that at the classic on the Saturday when I wasn't lifting I thought I ought to take some protein so my gains don't dwindle away. So I took a shaker full up to the brim with whey protein without considering how I was going to decant it or anything. I ended up pouring little bits of water in every so often until it was all like a very thick sludge. I ended up leaving half of it plus the shaker in Dover.

don't do that
