there is a girl from our gym competing, she is in the military, put 2 and 2 together.

Also simon robb is competing she said, he is very good, was meant to be in the 4 nations team but has had to drop out, personal reasons he said.

Fair enough. Yeah I've heard about him, still in the juniors though so I can still maybe get silverware at this one hahaha.

Today after having ate my last meal and a shower I weighed in at 87kg, not too fussed about my weight though I'm just going for fun as my tri is still playing up.i hit Squat/bench/deadlift very light, just getting my body loose from the weekend. Nothing taxing at all. Tomorrow I will do some mobility and stretching then drive to the comp in the midday and stay overnight.

i still plan to hit 230 squat, 240 deadlift but bench will just be enough to keep me from bombing out although I might push it if my opener goes ok.

Weighed in 87.1kg

205 pass, felt off.
215 Better groove but a fraction off being called for depth apparently
225 lost it 1/4 way out of the hole, possibly due to going way past parallel

100/115/120 all fine,mcould have gone heavier but didn't wanna risk arm.

Dl
215 easy

235 comeback pb and 8/10 effort. If I had balls I would have went 240 on this attempt but just happy to have an improvement.

Came 2nd to Ian Cox from the open category in weight class and got best Junior Male. Happy days! Hopefully I might get selected for the Army team?????


Plans for training-
Volume and hypetrophy! The key movements I will be hitting is safety bar squat, deficit deadlift, high rep presses and a lot more arm and chest training. Also I need to grow a set of quads!

5x10 worked upto 90kg I think dunno weight of bar I think 25kg? These are hard with the dead stop, chest was firing hard!
Pushdowns
50 reps total

Back extension
2x12-15 +10kg

No tricep pain thankfully but nice pump in the shoulders.

Have 4 irons to a set of 1933 cedar Spalding golf clubs with your name on them. If I had the whole set it would be valued at 5000 dollars. That's a nuce chunk a change here.

Shoulders. AGAIN.

Seated press
Worked upto a strip set of 65x8,60x4,50x4,49x4 - basically going 1-2 reps shy of failing, dropping and going again.

Seated Db press
3x10-15
Laterals

Front raises

Read delts
4x25 - felt like i'd done a line of coke not pre workout by this point.
Shrugs

Football bar pin press
40-60-80-85-70-60-50-40. 50 total reps And I was shaking like a s**tting dog. Not a lot of weight used by it was horrendous Doing that in 1 set.
Pushdowns
50 reps nice and light

Light hams
3x20 just to regain some movement for tomorrow's deadlifts after spending a week sat on my ass on holiday.

I'm still in rag now half an hour after them long ass sets! Hopefully this volume pays off. If it doesn't then I'm bound to have grown!

140/175/185x8 easy enough. 8/10 just grip and cardio got in the way but I didn't drop it and hook gripped the whole time as usual

60/80/100x10 nice stretch, grip was feeling it by this point... Poor old thumbs.

Feel pretty good, should do about 195/200x6 next week on deficit which will be a PB of 3 reps. Used my new Titan lever belt for the first time and it's different but pretty good to use.
