Thanks Martin.Happy

You realize that it is customary to punch Martin in the face for luck just before the weigh-in of your first comp. I know you probably don't want to, but Martin would never forgive you if you didn't

Tongue

Eek Eek That's why I normally arrive 10.35. Mind you Pete punches like a fairy as well. Rob told me so.Happy Well. it was something about fisting. I assume...

Mixed days events, although entertaining throughout.
Highlights for me...
Ian 'the pull' Shaw's 310 dead.
Lockout Lohans 182 bench.
Neil and Ed's 227 deads 2nd attempts, and then the crazy f**kers both made valiant attempts at 232.
Malc 'Mr preparation' Lurkio in general finishing with a PB pull and showing plenty of 'get on with it' attitude.
Tony B who would never pass for a novice lifter (& I mean that as a compliment T)
Ricks.. well Ricks lifting in general. It would appear that the mard arsed weakling from last year has been replaced with a powerlifter with an approach many could learn from.
Bryn for organising AND lifting.
The gals for jumping into a predominantly male sport and showing a lot of blokes how it should be done, and as always, Mr Flett for bringing not only his voice, but a big bag of atmosphere.

You've got something special there guys. Everyone in that room wanted everyone to lift everything. RESPECT.

Fantastic day today. Fantastic support from everyone, superb advice - I am indeed honoured to have been allowed to lift. So a big thanks to Bryn for that and his organisational skills, which were second to none! A big thanks also to Martin who helped create a superb atmosphere.

Well done to everyone on their lifts, a great competetive spirit shown by all, whilst remaining supportive - what more can one ask!

It almost makes me want to move up't north! Grin

Great day, some tremendous lifting. Performance of the day for me was Marie. Dropping 30kg in three months (104-74)... well, other people here have done that, or nearly Wink. But to then, in the first comp at the new bodyweight, open with the British squat record and finish with a 500 total smashing the YNE record by miles... well, other people here haven't done THAT. Inspirational lifting from one of the country's greats.

You know, I genuinely don't know! I may have had something in mind when I typed it, I may not. Isn't old age a terrible thing?
