all i seem to hear about is the shorter men complaining that the events favour the taller men. whilst the taller men complain that the events are easy for shorter men. 18 inch deadlift are a good tool to use every now and then i have only done it a few times though.

I think its accepted that strongman favours taller guys. cant think of many events that give the wee men an advantage. I am short though so maybe im just complaining? Grin

I was talking to Robbo last night and he said that Andy Bolton never pulls from the floor in training and always pulls off blocks for speed.
He also said hes never seen him go heavier than 260kg in training.

aye theres an advantage there for smaller guys. I think the taller lads can get around it though if they lift to their strengths. with long legs you can get alot of leg drive. misha is tall and has pretty long arms but is one of the best pressers in the game because he has great technique.

He does pull off the floor, but for speed, all his work is for speed.

There is a vid of him doing 350 x 5 with no belt on the net and also on his facebook a pic of him doing 410 x 3 from the floor
