A stupidly mong strong acquaintance of mine is after a lever belt and is wondering what benefits of a 13mm thick one has over a 10mm thick one. Obviously its thicker and so prob have less give but what does this mean in terms of lifting?

Will you friend be offering soiled belts for sale? If soI imagine the 13mm will soak up more juices and thus offset the extra investment

Tell your Stupdily Stong Mong Friend Wink that 13mm will be less plyable than a 10mm on and but i find that the 13mm offer more support. in Stronman a 10mm will help in moving events should Mr Mong Strong want to wear a belt during a medley or somekind for added support whilst moving heavy s**t.

Pros
  1. Rock solid under heavy squats
  2. Quick on and off

Cons
  1. Cuts & bruises more than a 10mm
  2. Cant wear mine for DLing - I like to have mine low and the 13mm rapes my hips in this position
  3. Lever takes longer to adjust than pronged belts, you need a screwdriver

i wanting it for squats and deadlifts really. I mess about alot trying to get my belt tight enough with neoprene belt under and the lever belt seemed to appeal.

Just bit skint so didnt want to waste my money ! also didnt know which brand to buy either.

if it just for Skwaats and DL the i'd go with a 13mm inver belt with a steel buckle.
the ones with a cast buckel have a tendancy to break as i have broken three now.

have you tried a Single prong 13mm or 10mm belt? i always found them to be good too.
mind you i have both types and a rachet belt so i'm covered for how i want to support my back and core.

I've been thinking of switching to a taper belt, as I struggle using mine with deadlifts. Is it good for squats too??

I have a 10mm Inzer forever lever belt - it has destroyed my belly after 5x5 squats, but it is a work of art and keeps me tight as a tick.

I love it.

Ooooo yeahhhhhh!!!

Not seen a belt in person that looked or felt better. Thankfully I got mine a a few years ago when the pound was srong against the dollar and US compaines didn't charge silly amounts for shipping.

Nowdays I'd prob settle for a lesser belt if I was in the market.
